코스피지수가 27일 4000선을 처음으로 돌파했다. 삼성전자는 같은 날 주가 10만원을 처음 넘어섰다.
코스피는 이날 전 거래일보다 1.48% 오른 3999.79에 개장했다. 개장 직후 4000선을 넘어섰다. 장중 4030선도 돌파하며 사상 최고치를 기록했다.
코스피가 4000선을 넘어선 것은 3000선을 처음 돌파한 6월 20일 이후 약 4개월 만이다. 지난주 3900선을 넘어선 지 일주일 만이다. 10월 초 3500선을 넘어선 지 한 달도 되지 않아 500포인트 이상 올랐다.
삼성전자는 프리마켓에서 10만원을 넘었다. 정규장에서도 10만원선을 처음으로 돌파했다.
SK하이닉스는 53만원선을 넘어서며 최고가를 경신했다. LG에너지솔루션과 현대차 등 시가총액 상위 종목 대다수가 상승했다.
외국인은 이날도 순매수세를 이어갔다. 외국인은 지난주 코스피에서 보유 시가총액 1000조원을 처음 넘어섰다. 개인투자자도 순매수에 동참하며 지수 상승을 이끌었다.
코스닥지수는 0.81% 오른 890.23에 출발했다. 원·달러 환율은 0.4원 내린 1436.7원에 거래를 시작했다.
이번 주 주요 이벤트가 연달아 예정돼 있다. 27일부터 아시아태평양경제협력체(APEC) 정상회의가 본격 일정에 들어간다.
29일 APEC 정상회의 계기 한미정상회담이 열린다. 이 자리에서 관세협상 타결이나 진전이 있을 경우 국내 증시에 영향을 미칠 전망이다.
이번 주 미국 연방공개시장위원회(FOMC) 회의에서 기준금리 인하 가능성이 제기되고 있다. 금리 인하 시 뉴욕증시와 국내 증시가 추가 상승할 수 있다는 관측이 나온다.

The KOSPI's breakthrough of the 4,000 mark came approximately four months after it first surpassed the 3,000 mark on June 20. It came one week after exceeding the 3,900 mark last week. It rose more than 500 points in less than a month since surpassing the 3,500 mark in early October.
Samsung Electronics exceeded 100,000 won in the pre-market. It broke through the 100,000 won mark for the first time in regular trading as well.
SK Hynix surpassed the 530,000 won level, setting a record high. Most top market capitalization stocks including LG Energy Solution and Hyundai Motor rose.
Foreign investors continued their net buying trend on this day. Foreign investors exceeded 1,000 trillion won in KOSPI market capitalization holdings for the first time last week. Retail investors also participated in net buying, driving the index higher.
The KOSDAQ index started at 890.23, up 0.81%. The won-dollar exchange rate began trading at 1,436.7 won, down 0.4 won.
Major events are scheduled consecutively this week. The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit enters its main schedule starting from the 27th.
A Korea-US summit will be held on the 29th on the occasion of the APEC Summit. If there is a tariff negotiation agreement or progress at this meeting, it is expected to impact the domestic stock market.
The possibility of a base rate cut at this week's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting has been raised. Observations suggest that the New York and domestic stock markets could see additional gains if rates are cut.
