충북경찰청(청장 이종원)은 3일 오전 11시 청사 3층 상황실에서 제68회 112의날 기념행사를 개최했다.
◆ 68년 전통 112의날, 도내 12개 경찰서 동시 진행
경찰청은 이날 충북경찰청 상황실을 중심으로 도내 12개 경찰서 상황실을 화상으로 연결해 행사를 진행했다. 1957년 서울시 경찰국이 '일일이 알린다'는 의미로 112비상전화를 개통한 날을 기념하는 이번 행사는 현장 대응 역량 강화에 헌신한 직원과 유관기관 유공자를 격려하기 위해 마련됐다.
◆ 유공자 3개 부문 표창 수여
경찰청은 이날 △112긴급신고 상황관리 유공자 △경찰-소방 공동 대응체계 강화 유공자 △상황요원 역량평가 우수자에게 표창을 수여했다.
◆ 이종원 청장 "신속·정확한 대응이 국민 신뢰"
이종원 충북경찰청장은 격려사에서 "112는 국민이 가장 절박할 때 의지하는 긴급전화이자 경찰의 얼굴"이라며 "위급한 순간에 신속하고 정확하게 대응하는 것이 국민의 신뢰로 이어진다"고 말했다.
이 청장은 "충북112상황실은 도민의 안전을 위해 상황관리 역량을 강화하고 국민이 체감하는 현장 치안서비스를 제공하는 명품조연이 되어야 한다"고 강조했다.

◆ 68-Year Tradition of 112 Day, Simultaneous Event at 12 Police Stations
The police agency connected the situation rooms of 12 police stations across the province via video conferencing, centered on the Chungbuk Provincial Police Agency Situation Room. The event, commemorating the day when the Seoul Metropolitan Police Bureau opened the 112 emergency telephone service in 1957 with the meaning of "informing each and every incident," was organized to encourage employees and related organizations who have dedicated themselves to strengthening on-site response capabilities.
◆ Awards Presented in Three Categories
The police agency presented awards to △meritorious persons in 112 emergency call situation management △meritorious persons in strengthening the police-fire joint response system △excellent performers in situation personnel competency evaluation.

Chungbuk Provincial Police Commissioner Lee Jong-won stated in his address, "112 is the emergency telephone that citizens rely on in their most desperate moments and represents the face of the police," adding, "Responding quickly and accurately in urgent situations directly translates into public trust."
Commissioner Lee emphasized, "The Chungbuk 112 Situation Room must become a premium supporting actor that strengthens situation management capabilities for the safety of provincial residents and provides on-site security services that citizens can feel."
