이연희(더불어민주당·청주 흥덕구) 국회의원이 청주국제공항 주차문제 해결을 촉구했다.
이 의원은 지난 27일 인천공항공사에서 열린 국토교통위원회 항공관련 산하기관 국정감사에서 "현재 청주공항 정규 주차면 5천410곳은 상시 만차이고 임시 주차장 717면도 포화상태"라고 지적했다.
그는 "장래 항공수요와 이용객 편의를 고려하면 최소 2천면 이상의 주차공간이 추가로 필요하다"고 강조했다.
이 의원실에 따르면 한국공항공사는 청주공항 제2 주차빌딩 건축을 추진 중이다. 이 사업이 추진되면 2030년 주차장은 1천면 증가한다. 2034년에는 600면이 추가로 생긴다.
이 의원은 "청주공항 만성 주차부족 문제가 5년간 지속되고 있다"며 "청주공항을 활성화하고 이용객 불편을 최소화하기 위해 공항공사가 신속하게 주차면을 확보해야 한다"고 밝혔다.

Rep. Lee Yeon-hee (Democratic Party of Korea, Cheongju Heungdeok-gu) urged a solution to the parking problem at Cheongju International Airport on the 27th.
At the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee's parliamentary audit of aviation-related agencies held at Incheon Airport Corporation that day, Rep. According to Rep. Lee's office, Korea Airports Corporation is promoting the construction of a second parking building at Cheongju Airport. If this project proceeds, parking spaces will increase by 1,000 in 2030. In 2034, an additional 600 spaces will be created.
Rep. Lee stated, "The chronic parking shortage problem at Cheongju Airport has continued for five years," adding, "To activate Cheongju Airport and minimize user inconvenience, the airport corporation must quickly secure parking spaces."
