청주시 9급 여성 공무원 수가 남성의 2배에 달하는 것으로 나타났다.

청주시는 23일 올해 기준 시 소속 9급 여성 공무원이 340명으로, 남성 공무원 210명보다 130명 많다고 밝혔다. 9급 전체 인원 비율은 여성 62%, 남성 38%다.

과장급(5급) 공무원에서도 여성 비율이 남성을 앞질렀다. 시 소속 과장급 공무원 158명 중 여성은 80명으로 전체의 51%를 차지했다. 지난해 41%에서 10% 증가한 수치다.

국장급(4급) 이상 공무원 22명 중 여성은 6명으로 전체의 27%를 차지했다. 이는 지난해 23%보다 4% 늘어난 수치다.

시 관계자는 "지난해와 비교해 하위직급은 큰 변동이 없는데 상위직급에서의 여성 비율이 높아졌다"며 "공정하고 투명한 인사방침을 세워 직원들이 활기차게 일할 수 있는 공직사회를 만들어가겠다"고 말했다.
