㈜오리온이 진천군에 4,600억원을 투입해 통합센터를 건설한다.
진천군은 23일 이월면 사당리 진천테크노폴리스 산단에서 오리온 진천통합센터 착공식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
착공식에는 허인철 오리온 부회장과 송기섭 진천군수, 이재명 진천군의장, 이복원 충북경제부지사, 임영은·안치영 충북도의원 등이 참석했다.
오리온은 18만8,000㎡(약 5만7,000평) 부지에 전체 면적 14만9,000㎡(약 4만5,000평) 규모로 통합센터를 건설한다. 이는 축구장 26개를 합친 크기다.
통합센터는 생산과 포장, 배송까지 전 과정을 한 곳에서 수행하는 스마트 복합 기지로 설계됐다. 오리온은 국내외 수출 물량까지 대응하는 원스톱 생산기지로 통합센터를 운영할 계획이다.
오리온은 2027년 완공을 목표로 공사를 진행한다.
진천군은 통합센터 가동 시 수백 개의 직접 일자리가 창출되고, 지역 소상공인과의 연계 및 물류망 확장에 따른 관계 산업이 활성화될 것으로 전망했다.
송기섭 군수는 "오리온의 진천군 선택은 단순히 기업 하나가 지역에 자리를 잡는 것이 아니라, 군이 산업·물류·제조 허브로서의 강점을 인정받았다는 증거"라고 말했다.
진천군은 누적 투자유치 15조원 돌파와 10년 연속 투자유치 1조원 달성을 앞두고 있다. 진천군은 기업이 안심하고 투자하고 지속 성장할 수 있도록 '진천군 기업지원 풀패키지 체제'를 강화할 방침이다.

Orion Co., Ltd. will invest 460 billion won to build an integrated center in Jincheon-gun.
Jincheon-gun announced that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Orion Jincheon Integrated Center at the Jincheon Technopolis Industrial Complex in Sadang-ri, Iwol-myeon on the 23rd.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Orion Vice Chairman Heo In-chul, Jincheon County Governor Song Ki-seop, Jincheon County Council Chairman Lee Jae-myung, Chungbuk Economic Vice Governor Lee Bok-won, and Chungbuk Provincial Council members Lim Young-eun and Ahn Chi-young.
Orion will build an integrated center with a total area of 149,000㎡ (approximately 45,000 pyeong) on a site of 188,000㎡ (approximately 57,000 pyeong). This is equivalent to the size of 26 soccer fields combined.
The integrated center is designed as a smart complex that performs all processes from production, packaging, to delivery in one place. Orion plans to operate the integrated center as a one-stop production base that handles both domestic and international export volumes.
Orion will proceed with construction with a completion target of 2027.
Jincheon-gun projected that when the integrated center operates, hundreds of direct jobs will be created, and related industries will be activated through linkage with local small business owners and expansion of logistics networks.
County Governor Song Ki-seop said, "Orion's choice of Jincheon-gun is not simply one company establishing itself in the region, but evidence that the county's strengths as an industrial, logistics, and manufacturing hub have been recognized."
Jincheon-gun is on the verge of surpassing 15 trillion won in cumulative investment attraction and achieving 1 trillion won in investment attraction for 10 consecutive years. Jincheon-gun plans to strengthen the 'Jincheon-gun Enterprise Support Full Package System' so that companies can invest with confidence and achieve sustainable growth.
