충북도는 제14회 공공디자인 공모전 대상작으로 권해준·노정민씨의 '충주 언약당'을 선정했다고 24일 밝혔다.
충북도는 '충북의 유휴(遊休) 공간을 디자인하라'를 주제로 공모전을 진행했다. 총 204점이 접수됐으며, 전문가 심사를 거쳐 45점을 수상작으로 뽑았다.
대상작 '충주 언약당'은 산척중 폐교를 결혼식장과 문화교류공간으로 재구성했다. 심사위원단은 지역 자원을 활용해 관광활성화와 공동체 회복을 조화롭게 담아냈다고 평가했다.
금상은 남기훈씨의 '촌(村)스러운 산책: 폐교 유휴부지를 활용한 오감체감형 스테이'가 받았다. 남씨는 단양 대강초 장정분교 폐교를 숙박시설로 리모델링하는 디자인을 제출했다.
은상에는 3개 작품이 선정됐다. 최우영씨의 '그림책정원 1937 브랜딩', 김가람씨의 '청주 내 관광스팟 및 역사유적지 인포메이션 서비스: 무디', 박소윤씨의 '연(連)과 연(緣)'이 각각 은상을 받았다.
고등부 최우수작은 서울 디자인고 태정림 학생의 'The Hideout of Flowers: 꽃의 아지트'가 차지했다.
충북도는 24일 시상식을 열고 도지사 상장과 함께 상금을 수여했다. 대상 300만원, 금상 200만원, 은상 각 100만원 등 총 1,350만원을 지급했다.
정선미 충북도 문화체육관광국장은 "지역에 방치된 유휴공간의 가치를 재발견한 참신한 디자인 아이디어를 도정과 시군정에 활용할 수 있도록 적극적으로 공유하겠다"고 말했다.
충북도는 수상작을 10월 30일부터 11월 2일까지 청주예술의전당에서 열리는 '2025 충북건축문화제'에 전시한다.

Design Utilizing Closed Schools... 45 Works Awarded, Prize Money of 13.5 Million Won
Chungbuk Province announced on the 24th that it selected 'Chungju Eonryakdang' by Kwon Hae-jun and Noh Jeong-min as the grand prize winner of the 14th Public Design Contest.
Chungbuk Province conducted the contest under the theme 'Design Idle Spaces in Chungbuk.' A total of 204 entries were submitted, and 45 works were selected as winners through expert evaluation.
The grand prize-winning work 'Chungju Eonryakdang' redesigned the closed Sancheok Middle School into a wedding venue and cultural exchange space. The judging panel evaluated that it harmoniously incorporated the goals of tourism revitalization and community recovery using local resources.
The gold prize went to Nam Ki-hoon's 'Village-like Walk: Five Senses Experience Stay Utilizing Closed School Idle Site.' Nam submitted a design to remodel the closed Jangjeong Branch of Daegang Elementary School in Danyang into accommodation facilities.
Three works were selected for silver prizes. Choi Woo-young's 'Picture Book Garden 1937 Branding,' Kim Ga-ram's 'Information Service for Tourist Spots and Historical Sites in Cheongju: Moody,' and Park So-yoon's 'Yeon and Yeon' each received silver prizes.
The high school division's top prize went to student Tae Jeong-rim from Seoul Design High School for 'The Hideout of Flowers.'
Chungbuk Province held an award ceremony on the 24th and presented prize money along with governor's certificates. The province awarded a total of 13.5 million won, including 3 million won for the grand prize, 2 million won for the gold prize, and 1 million won each for silver prizes.
Jeong Seon-mi, Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Chungbuk Province, said, "We will actively share creative design ideas that rediscovered the value of idle spaces left in the region so they can be utilized in provincial and city-county administration."
Chungbuk Province will exhibit the winning works at the '2025 Chungbuk Architecture Culture Festival' to be held at Cheongju Arts Center from October 30 to November 2.
