충남 보령시 대천해수욕장과 무창포해수욕장에 올해 여름 586여만명의 피서객이 다녀간 것으로 집계됐다.

보령시는 24일 전날 김동일 시장 등이 참석한 가운데 '2025년 해수욕장 개장운영 성과보고회'를 열고 이 같은 내용을 발표했다고 밝혔다.

해수욕장별로는 대천해수욕장 535여만명, 무창포해수욕장 51여만명이 방문해 여름 대표 피서지로서 인기를 입증했다.

제28회 보령머드축제 기간에는 월드디제이페스티벌, K-힙합페스티벌, 머드온더비치 등 대형 공연을 개최했다. 시는 야간 프로그램으로 야간 관광 수요를 충족시켰고 워디가디 물놀이장, 펫비치 등 각종 체험형 프로그램으로 다양한 즐길거리를 제공했다.

시는 경찰, 해경, 소방 등 유관기관과 보령시적십자인명구조대, 보령해양구조대 등 단체와 긴밀한 협업체계를 구축해 단 한 건의 인명사고도 발생하지 않았다. 쓰레기 수거 횟수 및 시간을 확대하는 등 환경 관리에도 만전을 기했다.

김동일 시장은 "무더운 여름철에도 관광객 맞이에 헌신해주신 모든 기관과 단체 관계자분들에게 감사드린다"고 말했다. 그는 "내년에도 완벽한 운영과 새로운 콘텐츠 발굴로 보령지역 해수욕장이 명품 관광지로서 더욱 발전할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

Approximately 5.86 million vacationers visited Daecheon Beach and Muchangpo Beach in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province this summer.

Boryeong City announced on the 24th that it held the '2025 Beach Opening and Operation Performance Report' the previous day, attended by Mayor Kim Dong-il and others, and announced these results.

By beach, Daecheon Beach attracted approximately 5.35 million visitors and Muchangpo Beach approximately 510,000 visitors, proving their popularity as representative summer vacation destinations.

During the 28th Boryeong Mud Festival, large-scale performances such as the World DJ Festival, K-Hip Hop Festival, and Mud on the Beach were held. The city satisfied nighttime tourism demand with night programs and provided various entertainment options through experiential programs such as the Wadi Gadi Water Playground and Pet Beach.

The city established a close cooperation system with related agencies such as police, coast guard, and fire departments, as well as organizations including the Boryeong Red Cross Life Rescue Team and Boryeong Marine Rescue Team, resulting in not a single casualty. The city also made every effort in environmental management by expanding the frequency and time of garbage collection.

Mayor Kim Dong-il said, "I thank all officials from agencies and organizations who devoted themselves to welcoming tourists even during the hot summer." He added, "Next year, we will do our best to ensure that Boryeong's beaches can further develop as premium tourist destinations through perfect operations and the discovery of new content."
