충남 서산시는 23일 의용소방대연합회에 순찰 차량 1대를 지원했다고 밝혔다.
서산시는 이날 시청 현관 앞에서 이완섭 서산시장, 박문호 의용소방대연합회 회장 등이 참석한 가운데 전달식을 개최했다.
지원된 차량은 9인승 대형 승용 차량인 카니발이다. 시민의 생명과 재산보호를 위한 순찰 활동에 활용된다.
서산소방서 의용소방대연합회는 화재 예방을 위한 순찰 활동과 재난 발생 시 신속한 대응에 협조하며 시민의 생명과 재산 보호에 나서고 있다.
의용소방대는 응급처치와 사고 예방 활동, 폭염 취약계층 돌봄, 산불 초동 진화, 주민 안전교육 등 시민 생활안전을 보호하는 활동을 이어오고 있다.
서산시는 지역 의용소방대의 활동을 뒷받침하기 위해 2014년부터 현재까지 총 12대의 차량을 지원했다.
이완섭 서산시장은 "의용소방대 여러분의 활동이 우리 시민의 생명과 재산을 지키는 데 큰 역할을 하고 있다"며 "앞으로도 사명감과 긍지를 갖고 활동해 주시길 바란다"고 밝혔다.
이 시장은 "서산시 또한 시민의 안전을 보호하기 위한 시책 추진에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
