◆ 보령 출신 최정 9단이 보령시 체육 저변 확대 및 저소득층 지원을 위해 2,000만 원을 기부했다. 최정 9단은 2025 NH농협은행 한국여자바둑리그 OK만세보령팀의 총감독으로 활동 중이다. 기부금은 지역 내 유소년 체육과 생활체육 지원에 사용된다.
◆ 최정 9단은 2020년부터 보령머드팀 소속으로 한국여자바둑리그에 출전했다. 2020년과 2024년 두 차례 정규리그 우승을 기록했다. 올해는 풍부한 대국 경험을 바탕으로 OK만세보령팀 총감독으로 선임되었다. 지난 10월 개최된 충남 방문의 해 전국 어린이 바둑대회에 참여해 신진서 9단과 3국 빅매치를 펼쳤으며, 유소년 선수 사인회와 교류 이벤트를 진행했다.
◆ 최정 9단은 "고향인 보령에서 받은 응원과 사랑에 보답하고 싶었다"고 밝혔다. "이번 기부가 유소년 체육과 생활체육 활성화에 도움이 되기를 바란다"고 덧붙였다. 보령시 체육진흥과는 기부금을 보령시체육회와 협력해 바둑 종목 발전과 지역 체육 성장에 활용할 방침이다.

Choi Jung 9-dan Donates 20 Million Won to Boryeong City for Sports Development
Hometown Support Initiative...Focus on Youth Sports and Low-Income Assistance
◆ Choi Jung 9-dan, a native of Boryeong, donated 20 million won to support sports development and assist low-income residents in Boryeong City. Choi Jung 9-dan currently serves as general director of OK Mansei Boryeong Team in the 2025 NH Nonghyup Bank Korean Women's Baduk League. The donated funds will be allocated to youth sports and community sports support programs in the region.
◆ Choi Jung 9-dan has participated in the Korean Women's Baduk League as a member of Boryeong Mud Team since 2020. She recorded regular league championships twice, in 2020 and 2024. This year, based on her extensive game experience, she was appointed as general director of OK Mansei Boryeong Team. In October, she participated in the Chungnam Visit Year National Children's Baduk Tournament, playing a three-game match against Shin Jin-seo 9-dan, and conducted autograph sessions and exchange events for young players.
◆ Choi Jung 9-dan stated, "I wanted to repay the support and love I received from my hometown of Boryeong." She added, "I hope this donation will contribute to the revitalization of youth sports and community sports programs." The Boryeong City Sports Promotion Division plans to utilize the donated funds in cooperation with the Boryeong City Sports Association to advance baduk and promote sustainable sports development in Boryeong City.
