◆ 속리초, 탄소중립 자원순환 캠페인 운영
충북 보은군 속리초등학교(교장 문은경)는 5일(목) 탄소중립 기후변화 교육의 일환으로 자원순환 캠페인을 운영했다. 속리초 학생들은 보은군 재활용 가능 폐기물 교환 사업에 동참하기 위해 10월부터 매일 마신 우유팩을 깨끗이 씻어 모았다.
◆ 장안면 행정복지센터에서 우유팩-종량제봉투 교환
보은군은 종이팩 15개, 폐건전지 0.5kg, 병뚜껑 50개, 폐우산 1개, 투명 PET병 0.5kg을 각각 종량제봉투 1개와 교환해주는 사업을 추진한다. 이날 학생들은 장안면 행정복지센터를 방문해 모은 우유팩을 종량제봉투로 교환하며 자원순환의 의미를 직접 체험했다.
◆ 학생·교장 "환경보호 실천 지속할 것"
6학년 최소율 학생은 "무심코 버렸던 종이팩과 건전지가 유용하게 재활용된다는 사실을 처음 알았다"며 "앞으로도 꾸준히 참여할 계획"이라고 말했다. 문은경 교장은 "학생들과 함께 환경보호 실천의 중요성을 나눌 수 있는 뜻깊은 시간이었다"며 "앞으로도 전교생이 참여하는 다양한 탄소중립 캠페인을 지속적으로 이어가겠다"고 밝혔다.

Sokri Elementary School (Principal Moon Eun-kyung) in Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, operated a resource circulation campaign on Thursday, December 5, as part of carbon neutrality climate change education. Students collected and washed milk cartons daily since October to participate in Boeun-gun's recyclable waste exchange program.
◆ Students Exchange Milk Cartons for Garbage Bags at Jangan-myeon Administrative Welfare Center
Boeun-gun operates a program that exchanges 15 paper cartons, 0.5kg of used batteries, 50 bottle caps, 1 broken umbrella, or 0.5kg of transparent PET bottles for one standard garbage bag. Students visited Jangan-myeon Administrative Welfare Center and exchanged their collected milk cartons for garbage bags, directly experiencing the meaning of resource circulation.
◆ Student and Principal Vow to Continue Environmental Protection Practices
Sixth-grader Choi So-yul said, "I learned for the first time that paper cartons and batteries I threw away carelessly can be usefully recycled. I plan to continue participating." Principal Moon Eun-kyung stated, "It was a meaningful time to share the importance of environmental protection practices with students. We will continue various carbon neutrality campaigns with all students."
