청주 3순환로서 9중 연쇄 추돌 사고…18명 부상

At approximately 9:07 a.m. on the 5th, a 14-ton truck rear-ended a vehicle waiting at a traffic signal at the Odong Junction on the 3rd Ring Road in Cheongwon-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungbuk. The impact caused seven other vehicles waiting at the signal to collide in a chain reaction. A total of nine vehicles, including the truck, were involved in the accident.

Eighteen passengers sustained injuries in the accident. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police believe driver negligence caused the accident. An investigation into the exact circumstances is underway.
