◆ 2026년 국비 5억 원 확보로 사업 본격 추진

충북 보은군은 보훈회관 건립을 위한 2026년도 국비 5억 원을 확보했다고 5일 밝혔다. 2026년도 국가 예산안이 국회를 최종 통과하면서 보훈회관 건립 예산 반영이 확정됐다. 보은군은 보훈단체와 보훈가족의 오랜 숙원사업을 본격 추진한다.

◆ 기존 시설 노후화 심각…8개 단체 중 5개만 입주

기존 보훈회관은 노후화가 심하고 엘리베이터가 없다. 고령 국가유공자들의 이용 불편이 컸다. 군내 8개 보훈단체 중 5개 단체만 입주해 통합 운영이 이뤄지지 못했다. 보훈단체 통합과 이용 편의 개선 요구가 지속 제기됐다. 보은군은 2024년 건립계획 수립 당시 국비 반영이 연기된 이후 기획재정부와 국가보훈부 등 관계부처와 협의해 이번 성과를 이뤄냈다.

◆ 총사업비 37억 원…지상 3층 982.05㎡ 규모

보훈회관 건립사업은 총사업비 37억 원 규모다. 보은읍 장신리 54-3 부지에 지상 3층, 연면적 982.05㎡ 규모의 통합 보훈회관을 건립한다. 내부에는 보훈단체 8개 사무실과 회의실, 휴게 공간 등이 들어선다. 설계용역은 완료됐다. 올해 12월 착공해 2026년 11월 준공을 목표로 한다.

최재형 보은군수는 "보훈회관 건립은 보훈단체와 보훈가족 모두가 오랫동안 기다려온 숙원사업"이라며 "국가를 위해 헌신하신 분들께 합당한 예우를 다하고 보훈가족이 편안하게 이용할 수 있는 품격 있는 공간을 조성하겠다"고 말했다.

Boeun-gun achieved this result through consultations with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs after the national budget allocation was postponed during the 2024 construction plan.

◆ Total Project Cost 3.7 Billion Won…3-Story Building with 982.05㎡ Floor Area

The veterans hall construction project has a total budget of 3.7 billion won. The integrated veterans hall will be constructed on a site at 54-3 Jangsin-ri, Boeun-eup, with 3 floors above ground and a total floor area of 982.05㎡. The interior will include 8 veterans organization offices, meeting rooms, and rest areas. Design services have been completed. Construction begins in December this year with completion targeted for November 2026.
