◆ 서울서 기업 간담회 열어

충남 서산시는 4일 서울역 럭키컨퍼런스에서 대산항 해운·항만·물류 기업 초청 간담회를 개최했다. 서산시와 대산지방해양수산청, 충남도 관계자가 참석했다. 대산항을 이용하는 선사, 화주, 포워더, 하역사 등 40여 명도 함께했다. 참석자들은 각 기업의 애로사항을 공유했다. 신규 항로 및 화물 유치 등 대산항 활성화 방안을 논의했다.

◆ 항만 서비스 개선 방안 논의

참석자들은 석유화학산업 위기 속에서 대산항 활성화를 위한 다각적인 노력이 필요하다는 데 공감했다. 각 기관과 기업 간 협력체계를 다지기로 뜻을 모았다. 대형 컨테이너 및 원양 항로 신규 개설, 야간 도선 선박 확대 등 항만 서비스 개선 방안도 심도 있게 논의됐다.

◆ 5부두 접안 규모 확대 추진

서산시는 2026년 9월 준공 목표인 대산항 5부두를 대상으로 컨테이너 선박 접안 규모 상향 및 하역 설비 확충을 추진한다. 대산지방해양수산청과 함께 진행한다. 서산시는 관련 기업 및 협회와 예·도선 등 항만 서비스 개선 방안도 지속 논의하기로 했다. 신규 화물 및 추가 항로 유치를 위해 선사와 화주를 지원하는 조례 개정도 검토한다.

서산시 관계자는 "대산항 활성화는 서산시가 국제물류 거점으로 도약하기 위한 핵심 과제"라며 "관계 기업 및 기관 모두와 힘을 합쳐 서산 대산항의 항만 경쟁력 향상에 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.

Chungnam Seosan City held a meeting with shipping, port and logistics companies for Daesan Port at Lucky Conference in Seoul Station on December 4. Officials from Seosan City, Daesan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries and Chungnam Province attended. About 40 people including shipping companies, shippers, forwarders and stevedoring companies using Daesan Port also participated. Participants shared difficulties faced by each company. They discussed ways to revitalize Daesan Port including attracting new routes and cargo.

◆ Discussion on Port Service Improvement

Participants agreed that diverse efforts are needed to revitalize Daesan Port amid the petrochemical industry crisis. They decided to strengthen cooperation among institutions and companies. They also discussed port service improvements including opening new large container and ocean routes and expanding night pilotage vessels.

◆ Expansion of Pier 5 Berthing Capacity

Seosan City will pursue expanding container ship berthing capacity and loading equipment at Daesan Port Pier 5, which is scheduled for completion in September 2026. This will be conducted with Daesan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries. Seosan City agreed to continue discussing port service improvements including tugboat and pilotage services with related companies and associations. The city is also reviewing ordinance revisions to support shipping companies and shippers for attracting new cargo and additional routes.

A Seosan City official said, "Revitalizing Daesan Port is a key task for Seosan City to become an international logistics hub" and added, "We will do our best to improve the port competitiveness of Seosan Daesan Port by joining forces with all related companies and institutions."
