◆ 사상 최대 국비 확보
충남도는 내년 정부예산 12조 3223억 원을 확보했다. 김태흠 충남지사는 4일 도청 프레스센터에서 기자회견을 열고 이같이 밝혔다. 이번 예산은 올해 최종 예산 10조 9261억 원보다 1조 3962억 원(12.8%) 증가한 금액이다. 충남도 정부예산이 12조 원을 넘어선 것은 이번이 처음이다.
◆ 신산업 기반 강화 예산 대거 반영
이번 예산에는 미래 신산업 기반 강화 사업이 대거 포함됐다. 주요 사업으로 무기발광 디스플레이 기술 개발 및 생태계 구축 500억 원, 탄소 포집·활용(CCU) 메가 프로젝트 50억 원, 첨단 반도체 후공정 테스트 베드 25억 원, 국방 미래항공연구센터 조성 설계비 17억 7000만 원 등이 있다. 충남대 내포캠퍼스 설립 설계비 10억 원도 반영됐다. 아산 경찰병원 건립 설계비 34억 5000만 원, 도시 침수 대응 사업비 380억 원, 서천특화시장 재건축 공사비 50억 원 등 생활 밀착형 인프라 예산도 확보했다.
◆ 2027년 예산 확보 준비 착수
김태흠 지사는 "이번 성과는 도민, 시군, 지역 국회의원이 한 팀처럼 움직여 얻은 결과"라고 말했다. 김 지사는 "국비 12조 원 확보는 끝이 아니라 또 다른 시작"이라며 "2027년 정부예산도 더 큰 성과를 올리겠다"고 밝혔다. 충남도는 이달부터 2027년 예산 사업 발굴을 시작하고, 내년 1월 중앙부처 예산 편성에 선제적으로 대응할 계획이다.

◆ Largest Government Budget in History
Chungnam Province secured 12.3223 trillion won in government budget for next year. Governor Kim Tae-heum announced this at a press conference at the provincial government press center on December 4. The budget represents a 1.3962 trillion won (12.8%) increase from this year's final budget of 10.9261 trillion won. This marks the first time Chungnam Province's government budget exceeded 12 trillion won.
◆ Significant Investment in Future Industries
The budget includes substantial funding for future industry development. Major projects include 50 billion won for inorganic light-emitting display technology development and ecosystem building, 50 billion won for Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) mega project, 25 billion won for advanced semiconductor back-end test bed, and 1.77 billion won for National Defense Future Aviation Research Center design. The budget also includes 1 billion won for Chungnam National University Naepo Campus design. Infrastructure projects such as 3.45 billion won for Asan Police Hospital construction design, 38 billion won for urban flood response, and 5 billion won for Seocheon Specialty Market reconstruction were also secured.
◆ Preparation for 2027 Budget Begins
Governor Kim Tae-heum stated the achievement resulted from teamwork among residents, cities, counties, and regional lawmakers. Kim said securing 12 trillion won is not the end but another beginning. He pledged to achieve greater results for the 2027 government budget. Chungnam Province plans to begin identifying projects for the 2027 budget this month and proactively prepare for central government budget planning in January next year.
