Cheonan City received an excellence award at the 2025 Chungcheong Region Regional Statistics Policy Utilization Excellence Case Competition hosted by the Chungcheong Regional Statistics Office. Cheonan City was selected with its case study titled "Illegal Parking Response Through Enforcement Information and Parking Status Analysis." Out of 40 participating institutions—35 local governments in the Chungcheong region and 3 regional research institutes—only Cheonan City won the excellence award. The Chungcheong Regional Statistics Office hosts this annual competition to discover and disseminate best practices in regional statistics utilization and policy implementation outcomes.

◆ Proactive Parking Enforcement and CCTV Efficiency Reduce Operational Costs

Cheonan City implemented preemptive on-site responses to illegal parking through big data platform analysis. Efficient CCTV operations reduced installation costs, while improved road flow enhanced traffic safety. The evaluation committee highly commended these three achievements. Through big data platform maintenance and analysis projects, Cheonan City systematically analyzes various regional statistics and public data. The city applies these insights across multiple policy initiatives to establish and implement customized policies.

◆ Plan to Enhance Regional Statistics and Expand Policy Applications

Cheonan City plans to strengthen systematic management of regional statistics and upgrade its big data platform systems to expand policy applications. Jung Chang-ho, director of the Smart Information Division, explained: "This award reflects the results of implementing scientific administration based on data." Jung added: "Going forward, Cheonan City will continue to actively utilize regional statistics to develop and implement policies that contribute to improving residents' quality of life."
