◆ "바싹 말라 죽이는 상황" 호소

김영환 충북도지사가 18일 도청에서 기자간담회를 열고 "탈탈 터는 정도가 아니라 바싹 말라 죽이는 상황"이라며 정면 돌파 의지를 밝혔다.

김 지사는 "어떤 일이 있더라도 불의에 불복하거나 무릎 꿇는 일은 없다"며 "내 인생이 걸려 있는 문제라고 생각한다"고 강조했다. 그는 "이번 수사는 지방선거를 앞두고 불출마를 유도하기 위한 정치적 탄압"이라고 주장했다.

김 지사는 "불법 녹취 사건을 뇌물 사건으로 만들기 위한 과잉 표적수사"라며 "경찰은 4개월 동안 10차례 이상 압수수색을 했지만 직접 증거를 얻지 못했다"고 밝혔다.

◆ 지방선거 출마 의지 표명

김 지사는 내년 지방선거 출마에 대해 "도민들이 허락해 주신다면 피선거권이 있는 한 출마하게 될 것"이라고 밝혔다. 그는 "나의 진퇴에 관해서는 충북 도민만이 결정할 수 있다"고 강조했다.

김 지사는 "도정의 안정을 위해 조속한 수사 종결을 부탁드린다"며 "향후 국회 소통관을 통해 국민에게 억울함을 호소할 계획"이라고 말했다.

경찰 관계자는 "법과 원칙에 따라 절차대로 수사 진행 중"이라며 "압수 증거는 모두 영장을 받았고 법원에서 적법성을 인정받았다"고 전했다.

김 지사는 지난 4월과 6월 윤현우 충북체육회장, 윤두영 충북배구협회장 등에게 1100만원의 돈 봉투를 받은 혐의로 불구속 입건됐다.
