대통령실은 18일(현지시간) 아랍에미리트(UAE)측이 취임 후 처음으로 국빈 방문한 이재명 대통령에게 "극진한 예우를 했다"고 전했다. 김남준 대통령실 대변인은 현지시간으로 18일 오후 아부다비 프레스센터에서 브리핑을 열고 한-UAE 정상회담 전후로 곳곳에서 디테일한 예우가 이뤄졌다고 설명했다. 김 대변인은 모하메드 빈 자이드 알 나하얀 UAE 대통령이 이날 이 대통령 부부의 아침 식사를 직접 챙긴 것을 시작으로 공식환영식에서의 공군 비행단 에어쇼, 여성들이 흰 옷을 입고 긴 머리칼을 흔들면서 추는 유네스코 세계무형유산 등재 전통춤 '알 아이알라'(Al-Ayyala) 등을 예시로 들었다. 김 대변인은 "오후 18시30분(우리 시간 18일 밤 11시30분) 부르즈 칼리파에 대형 태극기 조명이 설치될 예정"이라고 덧붙였다.

UAE 대통령궁인 '카스르 알 와탄'에서 열린 국빈 오찬과 문화 공연에서도 세심한 예우가 돋보였다고 김 대변인은 설명했다. 국빈 오찬 메뉴로는 한국의 바비큐 소스와 UAE의 대추 야자 소스를 조합한 소고기 소스가 제공됐으며 볶음김치와 한국산 배·참깨 등 한국 식재료를 활용한 메뉴가 제공된 것으로 전해졌다. 이어진 공연에서는 UAE 악대가 김혜경 여사의 고향인 충북의 박달재를 소재로 한 '울고 넘는 박달재'를 연주했다.

◆조수미 '아리아리랑' 등 문화 공연 펼쳐

In the performance that followed, the UAE band played 'Crossing Bakdaljae in Tears', based on Bakdaljae in Chungbuk, the hometown of First Lady Kim Hye-kyung.

◆Sumi Jo's 'Ariarirang' Among Cultural Performances

On the Korean side, soprano Sumi Jo performed various songs including 'Ariarirang' based on the Korean folk song 'Arirang', the National Gugak Center's Court Music Orchestra performed Jongmyo Jeryeak, designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and crossover group 'La Poem' sang 'Land of Morning', the OST from the drama 'The Tyrant's Chef' which is popular in the Middle East. Spokesperson Kim revealed that President Lee presented a falcon sculpture to President Mohammed as a gift expressing respect and friendship.
