◆ 14개 언어 실시간 통역 서비스 제공
충북소방본부는 도내 거주 및 방문 외국인이 위급 상황에서 신속하고 정확하게 도움을 받을 수 있도록 '외국인 119 긴급 신고 통역 서비스'와 '긴급 신고 바로(Emergency Ready)' 스마트폰 신고 앱을 운영한다고 16일 밝혔다. 화재와 구조, 구급 등 긴급 상황 발생 시 국가별 인력 풀을 통해 영어와 중국어 등 11개국 14개 언어로 실시간 통역 서비스를 제공한다.
◆ 그림·문구 선택으로 언어 장벽 해소
'긴급 신고 바로' 앱은 영어와 중국어, 일본어, 베트남어, 필리핀어 등 5개 언어를 지원한다. 그림과 문구 선택 방식으로 신고할 수 있어 언어 장벽을 크게 낮췄다. 앱은 위치 정보 전송과 사진·동영상 첨부 기능을 갖춰 신고의 신속성과 정확성을 높였다. 재난별 행동 요령과 긴급 연락처 안내도 제공해 외국인 스스로 안전을 지킬 수 있도록 돕는다.
◆ "언어 달라도 모두가 안전한 충북 만들 것"
류지노 119종합상황실장은 "외국인 관광객과 거주 외국인이 위급 상황에서도 119를 쉽게 이용할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"며 "언어가 달라도 모두가 안전한 충북을 만들기 위해 노력하겠다"고 밝혔다. '긴급 신고 바로' 앱은 안드로이드와 iOS 앱스토어에서 무료로 다운로드할 수 있다. 앱 내 'Language' 설정에서 원하는 언어를 선택해 사용할 수 있다.

◆ Real-Time Interpretation Service in 14 Languages
Chungbuk Fire Department announced on the 16th that it operates the 'Foreigner 119 Emergency Report Interpretation Service' and 'Emergency Ready' smartphone report app so that foreigners residing in or visiting the province can receive help quickly and accurately in emergency situations. In emergencies such as fires, rescues, and medical situations, the department provides real-time interpretation services in 14 languages from 11 countries including English and Chinese through country-specific personnel pools.
◆ Eliminating Language Barriers Through Picture and Text Selection
The 'Emergency Ready' app supports five languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Filipino. Reports can be made through picture and text selection methods, significantly lowering language barriers. The app is equipped with location information transmission and photo/video attachment functions to enhance the speed and accuracy of reports. It also provides disaster-specific action guidelines and emergency contact information to help foreigners protect their own safety.
◆ "Will Create Safe Chungbuk for Everyone Despite Language Differences"
Ryu Ji-no, Director of the 119 Comprehensive Situation Room, stated, "We will do our best to ensure that foreign tourists and foreign residents can easily use 119 even in emergency situations," adding, "We will work to create a safe Chungbuk for everyone despite language differences." The 'Emergency Ready' app can be downloaded for free from Android and iOS app stores. Users can simply select their desired language in the 'Language' settings within the app.
