◆ 글로벌 전문가와 AI 생태계 구축 선언
충청남도는 11일 단국대 천안캠퍼스에서 인공지능(AI) 대전환을 선언했다. 도지사 김태흠과 도내 기업·대학·기관 관계자 600여 명이 참석한 가운데 충남 AI특별위원회 출범식을 개최했다. 도는 글로벌 빅테크 임원, 국내 연구기관 전문가, 대학 교수 32명으로 구성한 AI특위를 통해 도내 전 산업 분야에 AI 생태계를 구축한다.

◆ 6대 전략으로 산업 경쟁력 강화
충남은 △AI 기반 혁신 거점 산업 생태계 조성 △제조공정 AI 전환(AX) △농축수산 AX △융복합 바이오 AX △AI 지역 도시 서비스 구축 △AI 공공 혁신 등 6대 전략을 수립했다. 제조공정 AI 활용률 40% 달성, 벤처펀드 3배 이상 확대, AI 특화 인력 1만 5000명 이상 양성을 추진한다. AI특위 구성은 기업 14명, 대학 12명, 연구기관 6명이며, KAIST·연세대 교수와 국방과학연구소·한국데이터산업진흥원 연구진이 참여한다.

◆ 산업 주도권 강화에 의지 표명
김태흠 도지사는 "충남이 AI 시대의 선도자가 될 것"이라고 선언했다. 충남은 지난 수십 년간 산업화와 수출 경제를 주도했던 것처럼 인공지능을 통해 대한민국의 성장을 이끈다는 입장이다. 도는 제조업·바이오·농축수산 등 산업 전반에 AI 대전환을 이루고, 수자원 확보와 전력 인프라 구축으로 AI 대전환을 뒷받침할 계획이다. AI특위는 내년 초 비전·전략·세부 사업 계획을 확정한다.

◆ Declaring AI Ecosystem with Global Experts
Chungcheongnam-do declared artificial intelligence (AI) transformation on the 11th at Dankook University's Cheonan Campus. The inauguration ceremony of the Chungnam AI Special Committee took place with Governor Kim Tae-heum and approximately 600 participants from provincial companies, universities, and institutions. The province established an AI Special Committee comprising 32 members including global big tech executives, domestic research institute experts, and university professors to establish an AI ecosystem across all industrial sectors in the province.
◆ Strengthening Industrial Competitiveness Through Six Strategic Initiatives
Chungnam formulated six strategies: △creating AI-based innovative hub industry ecosystems △manufacturing process AI transformation (AX) △agricultural and aquatic product AX △convergent biotechnology AX △establishing regional city services with AI △public sector AI innovation. The province pursues 40% AI adoption rate in manufacturing processes, expansion of venture funds more than threefold, and nurturing more than 15,000 AI specialists. The AI Special Committee comprises 14 corporate members, 12 university members, and 6 research institute members, with participation from KAIST and Yonsei University professors and researchers from the Defense Science and Technology Laboratory and Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency.
◆ Commitment to Strengthening Industrial Leadership
Governor Kim Tae-heum declared, "Chungnam will become a leader in the AI era." Chungnam plans to lead South Korea's growth through artificial intelligence, just as it led industrialization and export-driven economy over the past several decades. The province plans to achieve AI transformation across manufacturing, biotechnology, and agriculture and aquaculture sectors while supporting AI transformation through securing water resources and building power infrastructure. The AI Special Committee will finalize its vision, strategy, and detailed action plans by early next year.
