◆의회 예산 삭감에도 시민이 나섰다
세종시 빛트리축제 시민추진단은 10월 30일 나성동 빛트리축제 임시 사무실에서 2025년 세종시 빛트리 축제 추진을 결의했다. 세종시의회는 올해도 빛축제 예산을 전액 삭감했다. 시민추진단과 세종시교회총연합회는 11월 22일부터 12월 31일까지 39일간 이응다리 남측 광장에서 축제를 개최한다.
◆개막 점등식과 다양한 프로그램 진행
개막 점등식은 11월 22일 오후 7시 이응다리 남측 광장에서 열린다. 대형 교회 성탄트리와 골든 볼, 빛 터널, 빛 조형물이 동시에 점등된다. 축제 기간 주말 버스킹, 크리스마스 마켓, 시민 참여 트리 전시가 진행된다.
◆11월 10일부터 본격 모금 시작
임인택 세종시 빛트리축제 상임대표는 "시의회 예산 삭감으로 시민이 나설 수밖에 없는 상황이 안타깝다"며 "빛트리 축제는 세종 시민이 함께 만드는 희망의 상징"이라고 밝혔다. 시민추진단은 11월 10일부터 모금 활동을 시작한다. 세종시 빛축제 시민추진단은 사단법인 세종시교회총연합회, 세종사랑 시민연합회, 사단법인 이어짐, 사단법인 문화살롱석가헌, 금강 수변상가 번영회 등 65개 시민단체로 구성됐다.

◆Citizens Step Forward Despite Council Budget Cut
Sejong City Light Tree Festival Citizen Committee held a meeting on October 30 at the temporary office in Naseong-dong to organize the 2025 Sejong City Light Tree Festival. Sejong City Council cut the entire festival budget this year. The Citizen Committee and Sejong City Church Council will hold the festival for 39 days from November 22 to December 31 at the Ieung Bridge South Plaza.
◆Opening Ceremony and Various Programs Scheduled
The opening lighting ceremony takes place at 7 PM on November 22 at Ieung Bridge South Plaza. A large church Christmas tree, golden ball, light tunnels, and light sculptures will be illuminated simultaneously. Weekend busking performances, Christmas markets, and citizen participation tree displays will be held during the festival period.
◆Fundraising Begins November 10
Im In-taek, standing representative of Sejong City Light Tree Festival, stated, "The situation where citizens must step forward due to the city council budget cut is unfortunate," adding, "The Light Tree Festival is a symbol of hope created together by Sejong citizens." The Citizen Committee begins fundraising activities on November 10. The Sejong City Light Festival Citizen Committee consists of 65 civic organizations including Sejong City Church Council, Sejong Sarang Citizens Union, Ieojim Foundation, Culture Salon Seokgaheon Foundation, Geumgang Waterfront Shopping District Association, and others.
