충남교육청이 제34회 충청남도학생체육대회를 11월 7일부터 9일까지 3일간 충청남도 일원에서 개최한다.
◆대회 개요
충청남도교육청이 주최하고 충청남도체육회와 회원종목단체가 주관하는 이번 대회에는 초등학교부 22종목 1,539명, 중학교부 31종목 1,370명 등 총 2,909명이 출전한다. 충남교육청은 7일 이같이 밝혔다.
◆경기 운영
축구를 포함한 9개 종목은 사전 경기로 진행됐다. 본 대회 기간에는 카누 등 21개 종목을 운영한다. 야구소프트볼, 씨름 등 2개 종목은 사후 경기로 치른다.
대회는 2026년 5월 개최되는 제55회 전국소년체육대회를 위한 평가전 성격을 띤다. 충남교육청은 이번 대회로 학생들의 기량을 확인하고 우수 선수를 발굴한다. 동계 훈련 등을 통해 전국소년체육대회 준비를 이어간다.

◆성과 및 포부
김지철 교육감은 "충남교육청 선수단은 제54회 전국소년체육대회에서 4년 연속 100개 이상 메달을 획득했다"며 "부별 한국신기록 5개를 포함해 신기록 15개를 수립하는 등 우수한 성적을 거뒀다"고 말했다.
김 교육감은 "이번 충남학생체육대회를 계기로 우수 학생선수를 발굴·육성하는 등 충남 학교체육이 한 단계 성장하는 계기가 되길 바란다"고 밝혔다.

◆Event Overview
A total of 2,909 students will participate in this event hosted by the Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education and organized by the Chungcheongnam-do Sports Council and member sports organizations, including 1,539 students in 22 elementary school events and 1,370 students in 31 middle school events. The Chungnam Office of Education announced this on the 7th.
◆Competition Operation
Nine events including soccer were held as preliminary matches. During the main event, 21 events including canoeing will be operated. Two events including baseball-softball and ssireum will be held as post-event matches.
The competition serves as an evaluation match for the 55th National Youth Sports Festival to be held in May 2026. The Chungnam Office of Education will confirm students' skills and discover excellent athletes through this competition. It will continue preparations for the National Youth Sports Festival through winter training.
◆Achievements and Aspirations
Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol said, "The Chungnam Office of Education team won more than 100 medals for four consecutive years at the 54th National Youth Sports Festival," adding, "We achieved excellent results, including setting 15 new records, including 5 Korean records by division."
Superintendent Kim stated, "I hope this Chungnam Student Sports Festival will serve as an opportunity for Chungnam school sports to grow to the next level by discovering and fostering excellent student athletes."
