◆ 결의대회 개최

옥천군새마을회(회장 김현숙)는 10월 30일 옥천군청 광장에서 새마을회원 100여 명과 함께 농어촌 기본소득 시범사업지 추가선정 촉구 결의대회를 개최했다.

정부가 최근 선정한 농어촌 기본소득 시범지역에서 충북이 제외되자 이번 결의대회를 열었다.

◆ 지역 현황 공유

참석자들은 농촌지역의 인구 감소, 일자리 부족, 청년 유출 등의 문제를 공유했다. 이들은 기본소득 지급이 지역 공동체 회복의 계기가 될 것이라며 옥천군의 추가 선정이 필요하다는 데 의견을 모았다.

김현숙 회장은 "농촌이 활력을 되찾고 세대 간 균형이 이루어지는 데 있어 충북을 소홀히 해서는 안 된다"며 "군민의 기대와 희망이 헛되지 않도록 적극적으로 건의하겠다"고 밝혔다.

◆ 군수 입장 표명

황규철 군수는 "농어촌 기본소득 시범사업은 지역이 자립할 수 있는 새로운 정책 실험"이라며 "옥천군도 이 사업의 취지에 깊이 공감하고 있으며, 주민의 의견이 정부에 잘 전달될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

◆ 향후 계획

새마을회는 결의문 채택 이후 각 읍·면 단위 간담회를 열고 주민 의견을 수렴할 예정이다. 수렴한 의견은 충청북도와 중앙부처에 전달한다.

◆ Resolution Rally Held

The Okcheon County Saemaul Association (President Kim Hyun-sook) held a rally on October 30 at the Okcheon County Office plaza with approximately 100 Saemaul members to urge additional selection as a rural basic income pilot project site.

The association organized this rally after the government recently excluded Chungbuk from the selected rural basic income pilot regions.

◆ Local Issues Shared

Participants shared problems including rural population decline, job shortages, and youth exodus. They agreed that basic income payments could serve as a catalyst for community recovery and that Okcheon County needs additional selection.

President Kim Hyun-sook stated, "Chungbuk should not be neglected in revitalizing rural areas and achieving intergenerational balance," adding, "We will actively advocate so that the expectations and hopes of county residents are not in vain."

◆ County Chief's Position

County Chief Hwang Gyu-chul said, "The rural basic income pilot project is a new policy experiment that can help regions achieve self-reliance," adding, "Okcheon County deeply sympathizes with the purpose of this project and will do its best to ensure residents' opinions are well communicated to the government."

◆ Future Plans

Following the resolution adoption, the Saemaul Association plans to hold town and township-level meetings to collect residents' opinions. The collected opinions will be delivered to Chungcheongbuk-do Province and relevant central government ministries.
