보령시농업기술센터는 29일 청라면 의평리 일원에서 '청년맞춤 임대형 스마트팜 단지조성 사업 착공식'을 개최했다.
청년맞춤 임대형 스마트팜 단지 조성사업은 청년 농업인이 영농 기술을 습득하고 자립할 수 있도록 2.8㏊ 규모(온실 면적 2㏊)의 스마트팜을 조성해 임대해주는 사업이다. 2~3명이 한 팀이 되어 총 4개 팀이 입주하게 된다.
◆추진 경과 및 향후 계획
보령시는 2024년 1월 한국농어촌공사 보령지사와 위·수탁협약을 체결한 후 2024년 5월부터 실시설계 및 기반조성을 추진했다. 이날 착공식을 거쳐 본격적인 온실공사를 추진하게 된다.
김동일 보령시장은 "본 사업으로 청년들의 재정적 부담을 완화하고 스마트팜의 진입장벽을 낮출 수 있게 돼 기쁘다"며 "청년들의 안정적인 정착을 위해 준공 후 작물재배 컨설팅 및 교육지원에도 적극 나서겠다"고 밝혔다.
◆운영 준비 및 지원 방안
보령시농업기술센터는 2026년 5월 준공 예정인 청년맞춤 임대형 스마트팜 단지의 원활한 운영과 효율적인 관리를 위해 관련 조례 제정과 예산 확보를 추진하고 있다. 충남형 스마트팜 복합단지 조성사업, 청년 자립형 스마트팜 지원사업 등을 통해 청년들이 미래 성장산업인 스마트농업의 리더가 될 수 있도록 지원하고 있다.

The Boryeong City Agricultural Technology Center held the "Groundbreaking Ceremony for Youth-Tailored Rental Smart Farm Complex Development Project" on the 29th in the area of Uipyeong-ri, Cheongna-myeon.

Boryeong City signed a consignment agreement with the Boryeong branch of the Korea Rural Community Corporation in January 2024 and has been promoting detailed design and foundation work since May 2024. After this groundbreaking ceremony, full-scale greenhouse construction will be pursued.
Boryeong Mayor Kim Dong-il stated, "I am pleased that this project can ease the financial burden on young people and lower the entry barrier to smart farming," adding, "We will actively provide crop cultivation consulting and educational support after completion to help young people settle stably."
◆Operation Preparation and Support Measures
The Boryeong City Agricultural Technology Center is promoting the enactment of related ordinances and securing budgets for the smooth operation and efficient management of the youth-tailored rental smart farm complex scheduled for completion in May 2026. Through the Chungnam-type smart farm complex development project and the youth self-supporting smart farm support project, it is supporting young people to become leaders in smart agriculture, a future growth industry.
