■ 고당리 최우수, 소정리·하서리 장려상
옥천군은 청성면 고당리가 15일 진행된 2025년 행복마을 경연대회에서 최우수 마을로 선정됐다고 밝혔다. 이번 경연에는 옥천읍 소정리, 청산면 하서리, 청성면 고당리 등 3개 마을이 참여해 각 마을의 특색 있는 성과를 발표했다. 심사 결과 고당리가 최우수, 소정리와 하서리가 장려상을 수상했다. 충청북도와 옥천군은 1단계 사업을 마친 마을에 2단계 사업비를 차등 지원한다. 고당리는 5천만 원을, 소정리와 하서리는 각각 2천만 원의 사업비를 지원받는다.
■ 주민 주도 마을 가꾸기 성과 인정
고당리는 '원당마을 꽃동산'과 '옛 우물터 꽃동산' 조성, 포토존 설치, 주민들이 함께 만든 마을 노래 등 다양한 활동을 추진했다. 주민 화합을 중심으로 한 공동체 프로그램이 심사위원들로부터 높은 평가를 받았다. 소정리는 하천변과 돌담길 꽃심기, 경로당 화단 조성을 통해 마을 경관을 개선했다. 하서리는 마을 진입로 꽃길 조성, 공동 텃밭 운영 등으로 주민 참여도를 높였다. 행사 당일 경연발표 외에도 추진 성과 영상 상영과 공연이 진행됐다.
■ 석화리, 충북 우수마을 선정...황규철 군수 "주민 주도 지원"
옥천군 석화리는 행복마을사업을 비롯한 다양한 공동체 활동을 지속적으로 추진해 충청북도 우수마을로 선정됐다. 석화리는 2017년 행복마을사업을 시작으로 마을만들기 사업, 공동체지원사업 등을 이어왔다. 2023년 농림축산식품부 주관 '행복마을만들기 콘테스트'에서 은상(국무총리상)을 수상했다. 황규철 옥천군수는 "마을의 변화를 이끌어낸 것은 행정이 아닌 주민 스스로의 힘"이라고 말했다. 그는 "앞으로도 군은 지역공동체가 주도하는 행복마을 조성을 적극 지원하겠다"며 "이번 성과를 계기로 더 많은 마을이 함께 성장하고, 군민 모두가 체감할 수 있는 행복한 옥천을 만들어 가길 바란다"고 밝혔다.

Godang-ri promoted various activities including the creation of 'Wondang Village Flower Garden' and 'Old Well Site Flower Garden', installation of photo zones, and a village song created by residents together. Community programs centered on resident harmony received high praise from judges. Sojeong-ri improved the village landscape through flower planting along riverside and stone wall paths and creating flower beds at the senior center. Haseo-ri increased resident participation through flower path creation at the village entrance and operation of a community garden. On the day of the event, performance videos and performances were held in addition to competition presentations.
