◆ 전국 첫 안내서 발간, 현장 기반 수립

충남교육청(교육감 김지철) 9월 학교 도서관 환경개선 안내서 제작·발간 완료했다. 전국 교육청 중 처음이다. 안내서 사서교사와 시설주무관 협력으로 완성했다. 학교 현장 즉시 활용 가능한 실무 중심 자료다.

◆ 시설 기준부터 공사 확인까지 상세 수록

안내서 담은 주요 내용은 다음과 같다. 학교 도서관 시설 기준, 기본 공간 구성, 장서 규모별 서가 면적 기준 등이 체계적으로 반영됐다.

시설 기준 설계 일반 기준과 공사 종류별 확인 사항으로 구분했다. 설계 일반 기준은 기본 사항·배치 계획·평면 계획 포함했다. 공사 종류별 확인 사항은 건축·기계·설비·전기·통신·소방 분야 세부 기준 수록했다.

◆ 현장 맞춤형 가이드로 설계 난제 해결

충남교육청 관계자 설명은 다음과 같다. "학교 도서관 학생과 교원의 학습·교수 활동 지원하고, 교육과정과 직접 연계된 교수·학습센터다. 학생 전인적 성장과 창의성·주도성 촉진하는 소통 공간이다. 이번 안내서 학교 도서관이 본연의 역할 충실히 수행하는 데 유용하게 활용되길 기대한다."

그간 학교 현장 시설 관련 내용 다소 생소해 어려움을 겪었다. 이번 안내서 설계 기준과 공사 확인사항 함께 제시해 학교들이 쉽게 이해하고 실제 사업에 적용할 수 있게 했다.

This marks the first initiative among all provincial offices of education nationwide. The guide was completed through collaboration between librarian teachers and facilities managers. This is a practice-focused material immediately applicable in school settings.

◆ Detailed Documentation from Facilities Standards to Construction Verification

The guide's main contents are as follows. School library facilities standards, basic spatial composition, and bookshelf area standards according to collection size are systematically reflected.

Facilities standards were divided into general design standards and construction type-specific verification matters. General design standards included basic matters, layout planning, and floor planning. Construction type-specific verification matters documented detailed standards in architecture, machinery, equipment, electrical, telecommunications, and fire safety fields.

◆ Field-Tailored Guide Resolves Design Challenges

An official from the Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education explained as follows: "School libraries support students' and teachers' learning and teaching activities, serving as teaching and learning centers directly linked to curriculum. They are communication spaces that promote students' holistic growth and creativity and initiative. We expect this guide to be usefully applied as school libraries fulfill their original roles."

School sites previously faced difficulties with facility-related content being somewhat unfamiliar. This guide presents design standards and construction verification matters together, enabling schools to easily understand and apply actual projects.
