◆ 과학 원리로 만나는 진로의 길

궁남초등학교가 12월 30일 전교생을 대상으로 진로체험 프로그램 렉처콘서트 '덕후, 새로운 능력자들'을 실시했다. 적정규모학교육성 지원기금 사업으로 진행된 이날 행사는 종이비행기 국가대표팀을 초청해 학생들이 관심 분야를 직업으로 확장할 수 있는 가능성을 체험하는 자리로 마련됐다.

강의는 종이비행기의 비행 원리를 중심으로 진행됐다. 양력, 중력, 공기저항 등 물리학적 개념을 설명하고, 개인의 취미가 어떻게 전문 분야로 발전해 진로가 되는지, 새로운 직업을 창조할 수 있는 가능성을 소개했다. 강사들은 종이비행기를 통해 좋아하는 것을 꾸준히 탐구하고 발전시킨 경험이 하나의 직업으로 발전한 사례를 구체적으로 제시했다.

◆ 이론에서 실전으로 이어지는 체험

학생들은 강의 후 직접 종이비행기를 접고 비행 원리를 적용해 문제를 해결하는 실습에 참여했다. 다양한 접기 방법과 날리는 방식을 시도하며 비행 거리를 늘려보는 활동을 진행했고, 멀리 날리기 대회를 통해 배운 원리를 실제로 적용했다. 학생들은 이 과정에서 자신의 관심사와 재능이 어떻게 현실의 직업으로 연결될 수 있는지 경험했다.

참여 학생은 "평소 좋아하던 종이비행기에 과학 원리가 숨어 있다는 것이 신기했고, 내가 좋아하는 것이 직업이 될 수 있다는 것을 알게 되니 내 적성이 무엇인지 생각하게 되었다"며 "앞으로 나만의 진로를 더 고민해보고 싶다"고 소감을 전했다.

궁남초등학교 교장 김미옥은 학생들이 자신을 이해하고 스스로 직업을 창조할 수 있는 자기 주도적 삶의 설계를 지원하기 위해 이번 프로그램을 추진했다. 학교는 앞으로도 학생의 흥미와 재능을 반영한 다양한 진로체험 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영할 계획이다.

Gungnam Elementary School conducted a career experience program lecture concert titled "Nerds, New Capable People" for all students on December 30. Implemented as part of the Appropriate-Scale School Development Support Fund project, the event invited the national paper airplane representative team to provide students an opportunity to experience how interests can expand into careers and the possibility of creating new professions.

The lecture focused on paper airplane flight principles. Instructors explained physics concepts including lift, gravity, and air resistance, demonstrating how individual hobbies develop into professional fields and career paths, as well as the potential to create new occupations. The instructors presented concrete examples of how consistent exploration and development of interests through paper airplanes evolved into actual careers.

◆ From Theory to Hands-On Experience

Following the lecture, students participated in hands-on activities folding paper airplanes and applying flight principles to solve problems. They experimented with various folding methods and flying techniques to increase flight distance and participated in a distance-flying contest applying learned principles in practice. Through this process, students experienced how their interests and talents connect to real-world careers.

◆ Designing Their Own Futures

A participating student stated, "It was amazing to discover scientific principles hidden in paper airplanes I enjoyed, and realizing my interests could become a career made me think about my aptitudes," adding "I want to give more thought to designing my own career path going forward."

Gungnam Elementary School Principal Kim Mi-ok initiated this program to support students in self-understanding and developing self-directed life planning capable of creating their own careers. The school plans to continuously operate diverse career experience programs reflecting student interests and talents going forward.
