◆ 공주시 청년친화도시 최종 지정
충남도 공주시가 국무조정실 주관 '2025년 청년친화도시 공모'에서 최종 지정되었다. 충남도 발표 기준 2024년 12월 29일이다. 공주시 지정은 충남 지역에서 처음 나온 사례다. 청년이 살고 일하고 싶은 도시로서 경쟁력을 공식 인정받은 의미를 가진다.

공주시 선정은 체계적 준비와 충남도의 행·재정적 지원이 결합된 결과다. 충남도는 초기 기획 단계부터 단계적·지속적 지원을 했다. 구체적으로 국무조정실 주관 컨설팅과 설명회에 공주시와 공동 참여해 중앙정부 정책 방향 정합성을 높였다. 시군 대상 설명회와 전문 컨설팅을 통해 정책 방향을 점검했다. 도·시군 협력 회의로 지정 요건을 살피고 조성 계획 고도화를 지원했다.
공주시는 △로컬크리에이터 플랫폼 '제민캠퍼스' △도시형 스마트팜 청년 창업거점 '팜이다원' △청년공유주택 운영 등으로 지정 신청을 완료했다.
◆ 예산 지원과 향후 전개
공주시는 2년간 연 2억 5000만원씩 총 5억원의 국비를 지원받는다. 전문가 컨설팅 등 행정 지원도 제공된다. 충남도는 이번 지정을 계기로 도내 시군 전반에 청년친화도시 정책을 확산할 계획이다. 청년이 지역 내 정착·성장할 수 있는 지속 가능한 정책 생태계 조성에 속도를 낼 방침이다.
남성연 도 청년정책관은 "공주시 청년친화도시 지정 사례는 도와 시가 협력해 만들어낸 청년정책 성과"라고 말했다. "앞으로도 행·재정적 지원을 지속해 청년이 지역 미래를 이끄는 중심 주체로 성장할 수 있도록 지원하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

Provincial-municipal cooperation meetings examined designation requirements and supported plan enhancement.
Gongju City completed its designation application based on △the local creator platform 'Jemin Campus' △the urban smart farm youth startup hub 'Farm Idea Won' △youth shared housing operations. The city meets the designation criteria established by the central government.
◆ Budget Support and Future Plans
Gongju City receives a total of 500 million won in national funding over two years, at 250 million won annually. Administrative support including expert consulting is also provided. South Chungcheong Province plans to expand youth-friendly city policies to municipalities throughout the province based on this selection. The province aims to accelerate the establishment of a sustainable youth policy ecosystem enabling young people to settle and grow within their regions.

He added: "We will continue to provide administrative and financial support so that young people can grow into central actors leading the region's future."
