대전시 서북부 지역 상습정체 해소 핵심 사업인 구암교차로 입체화 사업비 455억 원 전액을 확보했다. 이 사업은 2025년 12월 18일 대전시청 대도시권광역교통심의위원회에서 죽동2지구 공공주택공급사업 광역교통개선대책으로 최종 반영됐다. 한국토지주택공사(LH)가 사업비 전액을 부담한다.

구암교차로 입체화 사업은 외삼역~유성복합터미널 BRT 연결도로와 호남고속도로 지선 통과 지하차도와 연계된다. 연장 355m, 왕복 6차로 규모 지하차도를 조성한다. 죽동2지구 공공주택지구는 정부 주택공급 확대 정책에 따라 계획 인구 5,908세대 규모로 조성되며 2032년 준공을 목표로 추진 중이다.

◆ 교통 개선 효과

LH 교통 분석 결과 구암교차로는 2030년 월드컵대로 핵심 교차로로서 일 교통량 약 3만 9,879대가 통행할 것으로 예상된다. 현재 용량 포화 상태(E등급) 교통서비스 수준이 입체화로 대폭 개선될 전망이다. 남시덕 대전시 교통국장은 "2030년까지 호남고속도로 지선 통과 지하차도와 구암교차로 입체화 사업이 동시 완료되면 서북부 지역 교통 흐름이 획기적으로 개선될 것"이라고 말했다.

The Guam Intersection multi-level project links the Oesam Station-Yuseong Complex Terminal BRT connection road with an underpass passing through the Honam Expressway branch line. The project will construct a 355-meter extension underpass with six lanes in both directions. The Jukdong District 2 public housing area, being developed under the government's housing supply expansion policy, is planned for 5,908 households and targets completion in 2032.

◆ Traffic Improvement Effects

According to LH's traffic analysis, the Guam Intersection will serve as a critical intersection on World Cup Boulevard, with estimated daily traffic volume of approximately 39,879 vehicles by 2030. Current traffic service levels, operating at full capacity (Grade E), are expected to improve significantly through the multi-level construction. Namsi-deok, Transportation Division Director of Daejeon City, stated: "With simultaneous completion of the Honam Expressway branch line underpass and Guam Intersection multi-level project by 2030, traffic flow in the northwestern region is expected to improve dramatically."
