이재명 대통령이 5일 강형석 농림축산식품부 차관을 직권면직했다.

대통령 결정으로 농식품부 차관이 직권면직된 것은 이번이 처음이다. 대통령실은 강 차관이 부당하게 권한을 행사하고 부적절한 처신을 하는 등 법령을 위반한 사실을 확인해 감찰 조사 후 면직 조치했다고 밝혔다.

강 차관은 행정고시 38회 출신으로 30여 년간 농식품부에서 근무한 정통 농정 관료다. 지난 6월 20일 새 정부 첫 농식품부 차관에 임명됐으나 5개월여 만에 불명예 퇴직하게 됐다.

He was appointed as the first vice minister of Agriculture under the new government on June 20 but faced dishonorable retirement after only about 5 months.
