◆ 대상·최우수상 동시 수상

성환고등학교 학생 2팀이 2025년 11월 8일 대한적십자사 충남지사가 주최한 제6회 충청남도 응급처치 경연대회에서 고등부 대상(회장상)과 최우수상을 수상했다. 충남 지역 50개 학교 학생 200여 명이 참가한 이 대회에서 성환고 학생들은 두 팀 모두 입상의 영예를 안았다.

◆ 심폐소생술·AED 기술로 높은 평가 받아

경연대회는 심폐소생술, 자동심장충격기(AED) 사용, 기도폐쇄 대응 등 실제 위급 현장을 가정한 실습형 과제와 이론 평가로 진행됐다. 성환고 학생들은 환자 평가, 심폐소생술 순서, 팀 간 협동력, 현장 의사소통 등 모든 항목에서 높은 점수를 기록했다. 정동진 교장은 "반복 훈련과 체계적인 교육이 이번 결과를 만들었다"고 밝혔다.

◆ 응급처치 교육 확대 계획

성환고 학생들은 "긴급 상황 대비 훈련이 값진 결과로 이어졌다"며 "향후 더 많은 생명을 구하는 역량을 쌓겠다"고 소감을 밝혔다. 대한적십자사 충남지사 관계자는 "학생들이 안전과 생명존중의 가치를 실천해 충남의 응급처치 역량을 알렸다"고 전했다. 성환고 정동진 교장은 "학교 현장에서 생명존중 교육과 응급처치 실습 기회를 확대하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

◆ Dual Award-Winning Achievement

Two teams from Seonghwan High School won the Grand Prize (Presidential Award) and Excellence Award in the high school division at the 6th Chungcheongnam-do First Aid Competition hosted by the Korean Red Cross Chungcheongnam-do Chapter on November 8, 2025. Over 200 students from 50 schools across Chungcheongnam-do participated in the competition, and both Seonghwan High School teams earned awards.

◆ High Marks for CPR and AED Skills

The competition consisted of hands-on practical tasks simulating real emergency scenarios—including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) operation, and airway obstruction response—combined with theoretical assessments. Seonghwan High School students scored highly across all evaluation categories: patient assessment, proper CPR sequencing, team cooperation, and on-site communication. Principal Jung Dong-jin stated, "Repeated training and systematic education produced this result."

◆ Plans to Expand First Aid Education

Seonghwan High School students remarked, "Preparedness training through emergency drills yielded meaningful results, and we will continue building capabilities to save more lives." An official from the Korean Red Cross Chungcheongnam-do Chapter noted, "Students have demonstrated the noble values of safety and respect for life, raising awareness of Chungcheongnam-do's first aid competence nationwide." Principal Jung Dong-jin added, "The school will expand opportunities for life-respecting education and first aid training on campus."
