◆ 도내 내수면 규모 전국 4~6위 수준
충남도가 내수면어업을 고부가가치 전략산업으로 육성하기로 선택했다. 17일 충남도서관 대강당에서 '2025 내수면 발전 정책 토론회'를 열었다. 김태흠 도지사, 해양수산부, 관련 단체협회 등 250명이 참석했다.
도 관계자는 내수면 현황을 "하천 499곳 2694㎞, 호소 8곳 1만 6006㏊, 저수지 898곳 7528㏊"로 집계했다. 하천 규모는 전국 3949곳 중 4위에 달한다. 전업어가구는 246호로 전국 2872호의 6위다. 2023년 수산물 생산량은 2719톤 275억원으로 전국 5위 수준이다.
◆ 스마트 양식장 전환·6차 산업화 추진
토론회에서는 내수면 스마트 양식 기반 확충과 수산식품 산업화를 중심으로 진행됐다. 도윤정 해양수산부 양식산업과장이 내수면 정책 방향을 제시했고, 김석렬 공주대 교수가 스마트 전환 발전방안을 발표했다. 참석자들은 기존 지원정책 강화와 신규 정책 마련을 논의했다.

◆ 김 지사 "미래 먹거리...도 최선다할 것"
김태흠 도지사는 "내수면어업은 전체 어업 대비 생산량 1% 수준이지만 생산금액은 6%를 차지한다"며 "고부가가치 산업의 잠재력이 높다"고 말했다. 이어 "노후 양식장을 스마트 양식장으로 전환하고, 관광산업 연계로 어업인 소득을 다각화하는 등 경쟁력 강화에 최선을 다할 것"이라고 강조했다.

◆ Provincial Inland Aquaculture Scale Ranks 4th to 6th Nationally
Chungcheongnam-do selected inland aquaculture as a high-value strategic industry. The province held the "2025 Inland Aquaculture Development Policy Forum" at Chungcheongnam-do Library Main Hall on November 17. Governor Kim Tae-heum, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and 250 representatives from related organizations attended.
Provincial officials compiled inland aquaculture statistics as "499 river sites covering 2,694 kilometers, 8 lake sites covering 16,006 hectares, and 898 reservoirs covering 7,528 hectares." The scale of rivers ranks 4th among 3,949 sites nationwide. Full-time fishing households number 246, representing 6th place among 2,872 nationwide. Aquatic product production in 2023 reached 2,719 tons valued at 27.5 billion won, ranking 5th nationally.
◆ Smart Aquaculture Farm Conversion and Sixth-Primary Industry Initiative
The forum centered on expanding smart aquaculture farming infrastructure and industrializing aquatic food products. Do Yun-jeong, director of the Aquaculture Industry Division at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, presented inland aquaculture policy directions, and Professor Kim Seok-ryeol from Kongju National University presented smart conversion development strategies. Participants discussed strengthening existing support policies and establishing new measures.
◆ Governor Kim: "Future Food Source...Province Will Spare No Effort"
Governor Kim Tae-heum stated: "Although inland aquaculture represents only 1% of total fishery production volume, it accounts for 6% of production revenue," emphasizing "the industry holds high potential as a high-value sector." He further stated: "The province will convert outdated aquaculture farms into smart farms and diversify fishermen's income through tourism industry linkages, sparing no effort to enhance competitiveness."
