군 관계자는 "영동군 직원은 어떠한 경우에도 물품 구매나 계약 대행을 명목으로 개인에게 대금 선입금을 요구하지 않는다"며, "이 같은 연락을 받았을 경우, 반드시 영동군청 홈페이지에 게시된 계약담당자 연락처를 통해 사실 여부를 확인하고, 즉시 경찰에 신고해 달라"고 강조했다. 영동군은 이번 사례를 계기로 각 기관과 지역 업체를 대상으로 보이스피싱 예방 안내와 홍보를 강화해 유사 피해가 발생하지 않도록 적극 대응할 방침이다.
