충남도, 금산에 1조6500억 투입 양수발전소 건립 추진
◆ 500MW 규모 친환경 양수발전소, 2037년 완공 목표
충남도가 금산군에 1조6500억 원을 투입해 500MW 규모의 양수발전소를 건립한다.
김태흠 충남도지사는 4일 금산군을 방문해 도민 600여 명이 참석한 가운데 주요 개발 사업을 발표했다. 양수발전소는 금산군 부리면 어재리 일원 125만㎡ 부지에 들어선다. 한국남동발전이 사업자로 선정됐으며, 2037년 말 완공을 목표로 한다.
이 사업은 2023년 12월 산업통상자원부 주관 신규 양수발전 공모에서 예비 타당성 조사 대상에 선정됐다.
◆ 보건소 신축으로 의료 접근성 강화
금산군 보건소는 금산읍 상리 일원으로 이전한다. 총 사업비 270억 원을 투입해 지상 6층, 연면적 5825㎡ 규모로 건립한다.
보건소 신축은 2023년 농어촌 의료 서비스 개선 사업 공모에 선정됐다. 도는 최첨단 의료장비 도입으로 주민 건강 관리 체계가 강화될 것으로 보고 있다.

◆ 아토피 치유 특화마을에 296억 투입
군북면 상곡리 산꽃마을 일원에 아토피 치유 특화마을이 조성된다. 지역활력타운 조성 사업비 146억 원과 제2기 지역균형발전 사업비 150억 원을 투입한다.
사업에는 단독주택 60호 및 기반 시설, 복합건강커뮤니티센터, 농촌 돌봄 치유 농장 운영이 포함된다.
◆ 청년농 주거 지원 21세대 조성
충남형 농촌리브투게더 사업으로 금산 남일지구에 21세대 규모 주거 단지를 조성한다. 민간 사업자 선정을 마쳤으며, 연내 착공할 예정이다.
김태흠 지사는 양수발전소 예정지를 방문해 "양수발전을 통한 에너지 전환으로 국가 탄소중립경제를 선도하겠다"고 밝혔다.
김 지사는 금산소방서 행정동 준공식에도 참석했다. 행정동은 104억 원을 투입해 지하 1층·지상 4층, 연면적 2114㎡ 규모로 지난 9월 완공됐다.
김 지사는 11일 천안에서 민선8기 4년 차 시군 방문 마지막 일정을 진행한다.

◆ 500MW Eco-Friendly Pumped-Storage Plant Targets 2037 Completion
Chungnam Province will invest 1.65 trillion won to build a 500MW pumped-storage power plant in Geumsan County.
Governor Kim Tae-heum visited Geumsan County on the 4th and announced major development projects before approximately 600 residents. The pumped-storage plant will be constructed on a 1.25 million square meter site in Eojae-ri, Buri-myeon, Geumsan County. Korea South-East Power was selected as the project operator, targeting completion by the end of 2037.
The project was selected for preliminary feasibility study in the new pumped-storage power plant competition hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in December 2023.
◆ Health Center Construction to Strengthen Medical Access
The Geumsan County Health Center will relocate to Sang-ri, Geumsan-eup. A total of 27 billion won will be invested to construct a six-story building with a total floor area of 5,825 square meters.
The health center construction was selected in the 2023 rural medical service improvement project competition. The province expects the health management system for residents to be strengthened through the introduction of cutting-edge medical equipment.
◆ 29.6 Billion Won Investment in Atopy Treatment Village
An atopy treatment specialized village will be created in the Sankkot Village area of Sanggok-ri, Gunbuk-myeon. The project will invest 14.6 billion won for regional vitality town development and 15 billion won for the second regional balanced development project.
The project includes 60 detached houses and infrastructure, a complex health community center, and operation of a rural care and healing farm.
◆ 21-Unit Housing Complex for Young Farmers
The Chungnam-style Rural Live Together project will create a 21-unit residential complex in the Namil district of Geumsan. Private operators have been selected, and construction is scheduled to begin within the year.
Governor Kim Tae-heum visited the pumped-storage plant site and stated, "We will lead the national carbon-neutral economy through energy transition via pumped-storage power generation."
Governor Kim also attended the completion ceremony of the administrative building at Geumsan Fire Station. The administrative building was completed last September with an investment of 10.4 billion won, consisting of one basement floor and four above-ground floors with a total floor area of 2,114 square meters.
Governor Kim will conduct his final city and county visit schedule for the fourth year of the 8th popularly elected term in Cheonan on the 11th.
