◆ 전국 규모 대회서 3위 달성

부여고등학교(교장 심상주)가 11월 1일부터 2일까지 광주여자대학교 유니버시아드 체육관에서 열린 제18회 전국학교스포츠클럽 축전 배드민턴대회에서 3위를 차지했다.

◆ 8명 선수단 구성, 단체전 3복식 출전

이번 대회에는 3학년 이승주, 김정진, 강진성, 김현종와 1학년 김준성, 이정철, 홍성진, 정상원 등 8명의 선수가 출전했다. 지도교사는 조성민, 성민수 교사가 맡았다.

대회는 단체전 3복식 경기로 진행됐다. 예선 리그전을 거쳐 결선 토너먼트 방식으로 순위를 결정했다.

◆ 학교스포츠클럽 활성화 목표

이번 행사는 교육부와 대한체육회가 주최하는 시·도 학교스포츠클럽 대항전이다. 학생들의 건강 증진과 인성 함양을 목표로 한다.

심상주 교장은 "학교스포츠클럽 대회를 통해 학생들이 협동심과 책임감을 길렀다"며 "3위 성적을 거둔 선수들과 지도교사에게 축하를 전한다"고 말했다.

◆ 3rd place achievement at national competition

Buyeo High School (Principal Shim Sang-ju) placed third in the 18th National School Sports Club Festival Badminton Competition held at Gwangju Women's University Universiade Gymnasium from November 1 to 2.

◆ 8-member team competes in team event with 3 doubles matches

Eight students participated in the competition: third-year students Lee Seung-ju, Kim Jung-jin, Kang Jin-sung, and Kim Hyun-jong, and first-year students Kim Jun-sung, Lee Jung-chul, Hong Sung-jin, and Jung Sang-won. Teachers Jo Sung-min and Sung Min-su served as coaches.

The competition was conducted as a team event with three doubles matches. Rankings were determined through a preliminary league followed by a final tournament format.

◆ Goal to promote school sports clubs

The event is a city and provincial school sports club competition hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Sports Council. It aims to improve students' health and character development.

Principal Shim Sang-ju said, "Students developed teamwork and responsibility through the school sports club competition. I congratulate the players and coaches who achieved third place."
