◆ 업무협약 체결
㈔충북경제포럼(회장 이재진)과 뉴욕한인경제인협회(회장 이창무)가 양 지역 기업 간 경제 교류와 협력 네트워크 강화를 위해 손을 맞잡았다. 양 기관은 10월 31일 충북 오송 청주SB플라자(충북바이오산학융합원)에서 상호 협력 및 우호 증진을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다. 협약식에는 충북경제포럼 이상찬 부회장과 방한 중인 이창무 뉴욕한인경제인협회 회장이 참석해 향후 경제·산업 분야에서 교류 활성화를 위한 협력 방안을 논의했다.
◆ 협력 내용
협약에 따라 양 기관은 회원사 및 미주 한인기업 간 비즈니스 교류 확대, 기업가 네트워킹 및 공동행사 개최, 세미나·포럼 등 정보 공유 프로그램 운영, 지속 가능한 협력체계 구축 등을 함께 추진하기로 했다.
◆ 양 기관 소개
1978년 창립된 뉴욕한인경제인협회는 무역, 유통, 물류, 의료 등 다양한 분야의 한인 CEO들이 참여하는 뉴욕 지역의 대표 경제단체다. 세계한인무역협회(OKTA) 뉴욕지회를 겸하며 차세대 무역스쿨과 맨해튼 한국학교를 운영 중이다. 1998년 설립된 충북경제포럼은 지역 기업인과 경제단체장, 학계 인사 등 250여 명이 활동하는 충북 대표 경제 네트워크다. 월례조찬강연회, 시·군 순회세미나 등을 통해 지역 산업 발전과 경제정책 제안을 꾸준히 이어가고 있다.

◆ MOU Signing
Chungbuk Economic Forum (Chairman Lee Jae-jin) and New York Korean Economic Association (Chairman Lee Chang-moo) joined hands to strengthen economic exchange and cooperation networks between businesses in both regions. The two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation and friendship promotion at Cheongju SB Plaza (Chungbuk Bio-Industry Academic Convergence Center) in Osong, Chungbuk on October 31. Vice Chairman Lee Sang-chan of Chungbuk Economic Forum and Chairman Lee Chang-moo of New York Korean Economic Association, who is visiting Korea, attended the signing ceremony and discussed cooperation plans to vitalize exchanges in economic and industrial fields.
◆ Cooperation Details
According to the agreement, the two organizations decided to jointly pursue expanding business exchanges between member companies and Korean-American enterprises, holding entrepreneur networking and joint events, operating information sharing programs such as seminars and forums, and building sustainable cooperation systems.
◆ Introduction of Both Organizations
The New York Korean Economic Association, founded in 1978, is a representative economic organization in the New York region where Korean CEOs from various fields including trade, distribution, logistics, and healthcare participate. It serves as the New York chapter of the World-OKTA and operates the Next Generation Trade School and Manhattan Korean School. The Chungbuk Economic Forum, established in 1998, is Chungbuk's representative economic network where about 250 people including local businesspeople, economic organization heads, and academics are active. It continues to promote regional industrial development and economic policy proposals through monthly breakfast lectures and city/county touring seminars.
