"민생 치안 강화...이상동기범죄·안전사고 예방 주력"

임종명(57) 제43대 충북 청주흥덕경찰서장이 27일 취임했다. 임 서장은 취임식 후 직원들과 인사를 나누며 업무를 시작했다.

임 서장은 취임사에서 "시민 안전을 위한 민생 치안 역량을 강화하겠다"며 "이상동기범죄, 안전사고 예방, 여성 1인 가구 보호 등에 주력하겠다"고 밝혔다.

전북 전주 출신인 임 서장은 1990년 순경 공채로 임용됐다. 전북경찰청 군산경찰서장, 전북자치도경찰위원회 자치경찰정책과장, 전북청 경비과장 등을 거쳤다.

임 서장은 지난해 2월 경무관으로 승진한 뒤 경북경찰청 공공안전부장을 역임했다.

Lim Jong-myeong (57), the 43rd Chief of Cheongju Heungdeok Police Station in North Chungcheong Province, was inaugurated on the 27th. Chief Lim began his duties by greeting staff after the inauguration ceremony.

In his inaugural address, Chief Lim stated, "I will strengthen public safety capabilities for citizen security," adding, "I will focus on abnormal motive crimes, safety accident prevention, and protection of single-person female households."

Chief Lim, originally from Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, was appointed through the police officer open recruitment in 1990. He served as Chief of Gunsan Police Station under the North Jeolla Provincial Police Agency, Director of the Autonomous Police Policy Division of the North Jeolla Autonomous Provincial Police Committee, and Director of the Security Division of the North Jeolla Provincial Police Agency.

After being promoted to Senior Superintendent in February last year, Chief Lim served as Director of the Public Safety Department at the North Gyeongsang Provincial Police Agency.
