충북 단양군이 도담행복마을 일원 11,170㎡ 부지에 조성한 '도담정원'이 노란 코스모스와 분홍빛 가우라로 만개했다. 군은 11월 14일까지 가을정원을 운영한다.
군은 도담행복마을에 코스모스 7,090㎡, 가우라베이비 4,080㎡ 규모로 가을정원을 조성했다. 정원은 단양팔경의 으뜸인 도담삼봉을 배경으로 바람에 일렁이는 초화가 가을 햇살에 반짝이는 풍경을 연출한다.
군은 올해 가을 포토존과 산책로를 새롭게 정비해 '도담삼봉 뷰 정원'으로 조성했다. 꽃 사이로 난 산책길을 따라 걸으면 삼봉의 기암절벽과 만발한 코스모스를 동시에 감상할 수 있다.
정원 인근에서는 주민이 직접 운영하는 먹거리 장터가 열리고 있다. 감자, 국수, 옥수수구이 등 단양 향토 먹거리와 함께 주민이 제작한 도마, 볼펜 등 수공예품을 판매한다.
지난 18일부터 19일까지 문화관광해설사가 진행하는 '도담정원 이야기' 프로그램이 운영됐다. 도담삼봉과 단양강, 마을이 품은 역사와 전설을 해설하는 프로그램은 가족 단위 방문객들의 호응을 얻었다.
도담정원은 지난 봄 캘리포니아양귀비와 안개초 등 봄꽃 정원을 선보여 관광객들의 호응을 얻었다. 군은 앞으로 계절별로 초화를 식재해 도담삼봉 일대를 사계절 꽃명소로 발전시킬 계획이다.
군 관계자는 "도담정원은 도담삼봉 관광과 자연스럽게 이어지는 감성형 정원 코스"라며 "주민이 함께 만들어가는 정원을 통해 단양만의 매력과 공동체의 따뜻함을 동시에 느낄 수 있다"고 밝혔다.

The county newly renovated photo zones and walking paths this autumn to create the 'Dodam Sambong View Garden.' Walking along the path through the flowers allows visitors to view the rocky cliffs of Sambong and the blooming cosmos simultaneously.
A food market operated directly by residents opens near the garden. They sell Danyang local foods including potatoes, noodles, and grilled corn, along with handcrafted items such as cutting boards and pens made by residents.
From October 18 to 19, the 'Dodam Garden Story' program conducted by cultural tourism commentators operated. The program explaining the history and legends of Dodam Sambong, Danyang River, and the village received positive responses from family visitors.
