청주시는 20일 상당구청 대공연장에서 지역발전과 이웃을 위해 헌신해 온 시정 발전 유공자 70명에게 표창을 수여했다. 수상자는 모범시민 33명, 적십자 봉사원 2명, 독후감 공모전 9명, 장기근속 이통장 6명, 여기U여기 청주! 공모전 4명, 청주시 건축상 8명, 자연보전 유공 8명 등이다. 이범석 청주시장이 감사의 뜻을 담아 수상자들에게 각각 표창패, 공로패 등을 수여했다.

이 시장은 "각 분야에서 솔선수범하며 봉사해주신 시민 덕분에 청주가 더 살기 좋은 도시로 발전하고 있다"며 "그동안의 헌신과 노고에 깊은 존경과 감사를 드린다"고 밝혔다.
◆ 수상자 가족·시민 참석...매월 시상식 개최 계획
이날 시상식에는 수상자 가족과 시민들도 함께해 축하 분위기를 더했다. 시는 앞으로도 매월 시민 표창 시상식을 갖고 지역사회에 기여한 시민들에게 감사의 뜻을 전할 계획이다.
