충남 서산시가 지역 에너지복지 향상과 시민의 난방비 부담 완화에 총력을 기울인다.

시는 13일 충남도청 대회의실에서 '소외지역 도시가스 공급 특별지원 업무협약'을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이날 협약식에는 이완섭 서산시장, 김태흠 충남도지사, 송민섭 미래엔서해에너지 대표 등이 참석했다.

경제성 낮아 공급 지연됐던 해미면 3개 지역

협약은 경제성이 낮아 도시가스 공급이 지연되고 있는 해미면 반양1리와 동암리, 조산리 일원에 도시가스를 공급하는 것을 주요 내용으로 한다.

도시가스 공급을 위해 시와 충남도, 미래엔서해에너지는 2026년부터 2027년까지 2년간 총사업비 63억9천만원을 투입, 해미면 지역에 도시가스 배관 12.54㎞를 구축할 계획이다.

사업이 완료되면 약 350세대의 해미면 주민이 도시가스를 공급받게 될 전망이다.

난방비 부담 완화·정주여건 개선 효과

시는 이번 사업이 주민들의 난방비 부담을 완화하고 연료 운반·보관 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 위험을 줄이는 데 기여할 것으로 내다보고 있다.

지역 내 에너지 인프라 확충으로 정주여건이 개선됨에 따라 지역 균형발전에도 힘이 실릴 것으로 기대된다.

이완섭 서산시장은 "그동안 도시가스 공급을 희망하는 주민들의 오랜 기다림이 드디어 결실을 얻었다"며 "앞으로도 도시가스를 공급받지 못하는 소외지역에 도시가스가 조기 공급될 수 있도록 다양한 방법을 마련해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.

Three areas in Haemi-myeon where supply was delayed due to low economic feasibility

The main content of the agreement is to supply city gas to Banyang 1-ri, Dongam-ri, and Josan-ri in Haemi-myeon, where city gas supply has been delayed due to low economic feasibility.

In order to supply city gas, the city, South Chungcheong Province, and Mirae N Seohae Energy plan to invest a total of 6.39 billion won over two years from 2026 to 2027 to build 12.54 km of city gas piping in the Haemi-myeon area.

When the project is completed, about 350 households of Haemi-myeon residents are expected to receive city gas.

Effect of easing heating cost burden and improving residential conditions

The city expects that this project will contribute to easing the heating cost burden of residents and reducing the risks that may occur during the process of transporting and storing fuel.

As the energy infrastructure in the region is expanded and residential conditions improve, it is expected to contribute to balanced regional development.

Seosan Mayor Lee Wan-seop said, "The long wait of residents who have been hoping for city gas supply has finally come to fruition," and "We will continue to prepare various methods to ensure that city gas is supplied early to underprivileged areas that do not receive city gas."
