김태흠 충남도지사가 백제문화제를 글로벌 역사문화축제로, 부여는 세계적인 역사문화관광도시로 만들겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.
김 지사는 12일 부여 백제문화단지 주무대에서 열린 제71회 백제문화제 폐막식에서 이같이 밝히고 성공적인 행사 마무리를 축하했다.
김태흠 지사는 "백제문화제는 대한민국 역사와 함께 해온 그 어떤 축제보다 유서 깊은 문화축제"라며 "앞으로 백제문화제가 충남과 한국을 넘어 국제적인 역사문화축제가 될 수 있도록 도에서 적극 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.
김 지사는 "충남은 부여를 세계적 역사문화관광도시로 도약시킬 것"이라고 강조했다.
김 지사는 "관광객들이 부여에 오시면 사비시대 백제에 타임머신을 타고 온 느낌을 받을 수 있도록 1천300채의 한옥 도시를 조성할 것"이라며 "백제의 미를 담은 한옥모델을 단계적으로 만들어 백제고도의 이미지를 되살리고 국제도시 부여의 명성을 다시금 회복시킬 것"이라고 밝혔다.
백제문화제는 백제의 찬란한 역사와 문화를 되살리고 도민 자긍심을 일깨우는 행사다. 올해 행사는 부여와 공주 일원에서 지난 3일부터 열흘 동안 열렸다.

Governor Kim said, "We will create a city of 1,300 hanok so that tourists can feel like they have taken a time machine to Baekje in the Sabi period when they come to Buyeo," and "We will gradually create a hanok model containing the beauty of Baekje to revive the image of the ancient capital of Baekje and restore the reputation of Buyeo as an international city."
The Baekje Cultural Festival is an event that revives the brilliant history and culture of Baekje and awakens the pride of provincial residents. This year's event was held for ten days from the 3rd in Buyeo and Gongju areas.
