보수단체인 충북자유민주시민연합 등이 12일 충북민주진보교육감 단일후보 추진위원회 상임 공동대표 등 12명을 공직선거법 위반 혐의로 경찰에 고발했다.

단체들은 충북도교육청에서 기자회견을 열고 피고발인들이 6월 3일 충북도교육감 선거와 관련해 법정 선거운동 기간 전 유사 기관을 만들어 선거인단을 모집하고 서명날인을 받는 등 사전선거운동을 한 의혹이 있다고 주장했다. 고발 혐의는 유사기관설치 및 사전선거운동, 선거구민 서명날인 금지 위반, 후보자 매수 등이다.

추진위는 입장문을 통해 모든 활동은 선거관리위원회 승인 하에 진행했으며 법을 위반한 적이 없다고 반박했다.

Conservative civic groups filed a police complaint on January 12 against 12 members of the Progressive Education Superintendent Candidate Committee for election law violations.

The groups held a press conference at the provincial education office claiming the accused created an unauthorized organization, recruited voters, and collected signatures before the official campaign period for the June 3 election. Charges include establishing unauthorized organizations, illegal pre-election campaigning, and candidate bribery.

The committee denied any violations, stating all activities received election commission approval.
