공주시는 과학기술정보통신부 '스마트빌리지 보급 및 확산사업'에 선정됐다고 9일 밝혔다. 공주시는 이번 사업을 통해 AI 기반 안심승하차 시스템 12곳과 스마트버스정류장 4곳을 구축한다.

총사업비는 15억원이다. 국비 10억5000만원, 지방비 4억5000만원이 투입된다. 공주시는 동 지역 주요 버스정류장을 중심으로 시설을 설치한다. 어린이·노인·장애인 등 교통약자의 승하차 안전을 강화하는 것이 목적이다.
◆AI 안심승하차 시스템 작동 방식
AI 안심승하차 시스템은 지능형 영상 분석 기술을 활용한다. 버스와 승객 간 거리를 실시간으로 분석한다. 위험 상황 발생 시 전광판과 음성으로 운전자에게 경고한다. 차도에 보행자가 나타나거나 불법 주정차가 발생하면 자동 경고 기능이 작동한다.
◆스마트버스정류장 편의시설
스마트버스정류장에는 냉난방 시설이 설치된다. 미세먼지 대응 설비와 무선 충전 시설도 갖춘다. 공주시는 수집된 자료를 대중교통 정책 수립과 교통 체계 개선에 활용할 계획이다.
최원철 공주시장은 "AI 기술을 활용해 시민이 체감할 수 있는 안전한 교통 환경을 조성하겠다"고 말했다. 이어 "교통약자가 안심하고 대중교통을 이용할 수 있는 도시를 만들겠다"고 밝혔다.
