충남 홍성군에서 70대 보행자가 차량에 치여 숨지는 사고가 발생했다.

◆ 사고 경위

8일 오전 7시 22분께 홍성군 홍북읍 봉신리 동진아파트 앞 편도 2차로에서 70대 A씨가 차량에 치였다. 홍성소방서에 따르면 목격자가 "교통사고로 환자 1명이 발생했다"고 신고했다.

◆ 구조 및 이송

출동한 구급대는 심정지 상태의 A씨를 발견하고 현장에서 심폐소생술을 실시하며 병원으로 이송했다. A씨는 끝내 숨졌다.

◆ 경찰 수사

경찰은 40대 운전자의 안전운전 부주의로 사고가 발생한 것으로 보고 해당 운전자를 불구속 입건해 정확한 사고 경위를 조사하고 있다.

Pedestrian in 70s Killed in Traffic Accident in Hongseong

Driver in 40s booked without detention on suspicion of negligent driving

A pedestrian in their 70s died after being struck by a vehicle in Hongseong-gun, South Chungcheong Province.

The accident occurred around 7:22 a.m. on January 8 on a two-lane road in front of Dongjin Apartment in Bongsin-ri, Hongbuk-eup, Hongseong-gun. According to the Hongseong Fire Department, a witness reported that one person was injured in a traffic accident.

Emergency responders arriving at the scene found the victim, identified only as A, in cardiac arrest. Paramedics performed CPR while transporting A to a hospital, but the victim was pronounced dead.

Police have booked the driver, who is in their 40s, without detention on suspicion of negligent driving and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
