충북 진천군이 농기계 임대료 50% 감면 혜택을 2026년까지 연장한다고 8일 밝혔다.
◆ 감면 혜택 2년 연장 결정
진천군은 농자재 가격과 인건비 상승으로 악화된 농업 경영 여건을 개선하기 위해 이번 연장을 결정했다. 군 농기계 임대사업소가 운영하는 모든 임대 농기계가 감면 대상이다. 관내 농업인과 중부 4군 공유도시(진천·음성·증평·괴산) 농업인이 혜택을 받는다.
◆ 6년간 5억 3천만원 감면 실적
진천군은 2020년 4월 코로나 발생 이후 농기계 임대료 감면 정책을 시행했다. 지난 6년간 5억 3천만원을 감면했다. 소규모·고령 농가의 영농 활동을 지원하고 적기 영농 실현과 농업 생산성 향상에 기여할 것으로 군은 기대한다.
◆ 현장 중심 지원 정책 지속 추진
남기순 진천군 농업기술센터 소장은 "농업인의 경영 부담을 줄이기 위한 현장 중심 정책의 하나로 농기계 임대료 감면을 2026년까지 연장했다"며 "농업인이 체감할 수 있는 실질적인 지원 정책을 지속적으로 추진하겠다"고 말했다.

◆ Two-Year Extension Decision
Jincheon-gun decided on this extension to improve farming business conditions that have deteriorated due to rising agricultural material prices and labor costs. All rental agricultural machinery operated by the county's agricultural machinery rental business center are eligible for the reduction. Farmers in the county and farmers from the four central counties' shared cities (Jincheon, Eumseong, Jeungpyeong, Goesan) receive the benefits.
◆ 530 Million Won Reduced Over 6 Years
Jincheon-gun has implemented the agricultural machinery rental fee reduction policy since April 2020 following the COVID-19 outbreak. The county has reduced fees by 530 million won over the past six years. The county expects to support farming activities of small-scale and elderly farms and contribute to timely farming and improved agricultural productivity.
◆ Continued Field-Centered Support Policies
Nam Ki-soon, director of Jincheon-gun Agricultural Technology Center, said, "We extended the agricultural machinery rental fee reduction until 2026 as one of the field-centered policies to reduce the management burden on farmers," adding, "We will continue to promote practical support policies that farmers can feel."
