홈플러스는 지난해 5월 영업 부진과 임대차 조건 이견을 이유로 성안점 임대계약 해지를 통보했다. 이후 이 의원실이 중재에 나서 합의안을 도출했고 법원이 이를 승인했다. 이 의원실은 경기 호전과 주변 신규 아파트 입주 시작으로 성안점 영업 실적 개선 가능성이 높다는 점을 강조해 양측 양보를 이끌어냈다.

◆ 지역 상권·일자리 보호 약속

이강일 의원은 "홈플러스 청주 성안점이 안정적으로 운영될 수 있도록 지원해 지역 상권과 일자리를 지키고 주민들이 불편을 겪지 않도록 하겠다"고 말했다.
