충북 옥천군은 7일부터 농어촌 기본소득 지급 신청을 9개 읍면 행정복지센터에서 받는다고 6일 밝혔다. 옥천군은 올해부터 2027년 말까지 23개월간 모든 군민에게 매월 1인당 15만원씩 지역화폐(옥천사랑상품권)로 기본소득을 지급한다. 대상은 2만6200여 세대, 군민 4만9600여 명이다.
옥천에 주민등록을 두고 30일 이상 거주한 군민만 신청할 수 있다. 온라인 신청은 불가능하며 반드시 거주지 읍면 행정복지센터를 방문해 신청서를 작성해야 한다. 1회 신청 후 수급자격을 취득하면 매월 신청할 필요가 없다. 첫 지급일은 2월 말로 예상된다. 기본소득은 받은 날부터 90일 이내에 사용하지 않으면 자동 소멸한다.
옥천군은 인구감소지역 대상 농어촌 기본소득 시범사업 대상지역에 포함됐으며 충북에서는 유일하다. 군 관계자는 "이달 안에 신청서를 내야 2월 지급대상자 심의대상 명단에 오른다"고 말했다.

Okcheon-gun, Chungbuk announced on January 6 that it will accept rural basic income payment applications at nine eup and myeon administrative welfare centers starting January 7. Okcheon-gun will provide basic income of 150,000 won per person per month in local currency (Okcheon Love Gift Certificate) to all residents for 23 months from this year through the end of 2027. The target population is approximately 26,200 households and 49,600 residents.
Only residents who have been registered and resided in Okcheon for more than 30 days can apply. Online applications are not available, and applicants must visit the administrative welfare center in their residential area to fill out the application form. After applying once and obtaining eligibility, there is no need to apply monthly. The first payment date is expected to be late February. Basic income automatically expires if not used within 90 days of receipt.
Okcheon-gun was included as a target area for the rural basic income pilot project for depopulating regions and is the only one in Chungbuk. A county official said, "You must submit your application within this month to be on the list for February payment eligibility review."
