◆ 서해안 유일 일몰·일출 동시 감상지
서천군 서면개발위원회가 31일부터 내년 1월 1일까지 이틀간 마량진항 일원에서 해넘이·해돋이 행사를 연다고 30일 밝혔다. 마량진항은 서해안에서 한 장소에서 일몰과 일출을 모두 감상할 수 있는 독특한 지리적 여건을 갖춘 곳이다. 매년 한 해의 마무리와 새해의 소망을 기원하기 위해 전국 각지에서 관광객이 방문하고 있다.
◆ 체험 프로그램·버스킹·불꽃쇼 운영
올해 행사에서는 소원등·소원패 달기, 고구마 구워먹기 등 가족 단위 방문객이 함께 즐길 수 있는 체험 프로그램이 운영된다. 색소폰 연주와 통기타 공연 등 버스킹 무대가 마련된다. 자정에는 새해맞이 불꽃쇼가 펼쳐질 예정이다. 새해를 맞아 방문객들에게 떡국을 나누는 행사도 진행된다.
◆ 인근 관광자원 풍부·무료 주차장 운영
행사장 인근에는 마량리 동백나무숲과 한국 최초 성경전래지 기념관 등 역사와 자연을 함께 즐길 수 있는 관광자원이 풍부하다. 행사장 주변에는 무료 주차장이 마련된다. 강구영 서면개발위원장은 "서해의 장엄한 일몰과 희망찬 일출을 동시에 경험할 수 있는 마량진항에서 2025년을 뜻깊게 마무리하고 2026년 새해를 맞길 기대한다"고 말했다.

The Seocheon County Seomyeon Development Committee announced on December 30 that it will hold a sunset and sunrise event at Maryangjin Port area for two days from December 31 to January 1 next year. Maryangjin Port has unique geographical conditions that allow visitors to view both sunset and sunrise at one location on the west coast. Tourists from across the country visit every year to wrap up the year and wish for hopes in the new year.
◆ Experience Programs, Busking, and Fireworks Show
This year's event will offer experience programs that families can enjoy together, including hanging wish lanterns and wish plaques, and roasting sweet potatoes. Busking stages featuring saxophone performances and acoustic guitar performances will be set up. A New Year's fireworks show will be held at midnight. An event sharing rice cake soup with visitors will also take place to celebrate the new year.
◆ Rich Nearby Tourist Resources and Free Parking
The event venue is surrounded by rich tourist resources where visitors can enjoy both history and nature, including Maryangri Camellia Forest and Korea's First Bible Transmission Memorial Hall. Free parking is available around the event venue. Seomyeon Development Committee Chairman Kang Gu-young said, "We look forward to meaningfully wrapping up 2025 and welcoming 2026 at Maryangjin Port, where you can experience the majestic sunset and hopeful sunrise of the West Sea at the same time."
