◆ 준공식 성황리 개최

대전시의회 조원휘 의장은 29일 유성복합터미널 건립사업 준공식에 참석했다. 지역 단체장과 시민 500여 명이 모인 가운데 행사는 기념식수로 시작해 사업 경과보고, 주요 내빈 축사, 시민 인터뷰 영상, 퍼포먼스 순으로 진행됐다. 준공식 후 참석자들은 터미널 내부를 순시했다.

◆ 10년 난제 3년 만에 해결

조원휘 의장은 유성복합터미널 건립 과정을 설명했다. 사업은 네 차례 무산되며 10여 년간 표류했다. 민선 8기 공영개발 전환 이후 민·관 협력으로 단 3년 만에 완성했다. 조 의장은 이 점을 의미 있는 성과로 평가했다.

◆ 충청권 교통 허브로 기능

터미널은 내년 1월부터 32개 노선 버스와 도시철도, BRT, 유성IC를 연계한다. 조원휘 의장은 "충청권 교통의 핵심 거점이 될 것"이라며 "터미널이 시민 일상과 지역경제에 활력을 더하고 대전 서북부의 미래 성장축을 여는 힘이 될 수 있도록 대전시의회는 정책적 관심과 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 말했다.

◆ Completion Ceremony Held Successfully

Speaker Jo Won-hui of the Daejeon Metropolitan Assembly attended the completion ceremony of the Seongbuk Complex Terminal construction project on December 29. The event was held with approximately 500 participants including regional leaders and citizens. The ceremony began with a commemorative tree planting, followed by a project progress report, keynote speeches from major guests, citizen interview videos, and performances. Participants toured the terminal interior following the main ceremony.

◆ 10-Year Issue Resolved in 3 Years

Speaker Jo outlined the construction timeline. The project was suspended four times and remained stalled for over 10 years. Following the transition to public development in the 8th popular election term, completion was achieved in just 3 years through private-public cooperation. Jo evaluated this as a significant accomplishment.

◆ Becomes Transportation Hub for Chungcheong Region

The terminal will begin operations in January 2025, connecting 32 bus routes with subway, BRT, and Seongbuk IC. Speaker Jo stated, "It will become a key hub of transportation in the Chungcheong region." He added, "So the terminal can revitalize citizens' daily lives and the regional economy and serve as a force to open the future growth axis of northwest Daejeon, the Daejeon Metropolitan Assembly will not spare policy attention and support."
