◆ 전주시 도서관 2곳 벤치마킹

아산시의회 천철호 의원은 12월 26일 아산시 시립도서관 공무원 등 5명과 함께 전주시립도서관 꽃심과 아중호수도서관을 방문했다. 이번 견학은 아산 도서관을 생활문화공간으로 발전시키기 위한 선진지 학습 차원에서 추진됐다. 청소년 특화, 음악 특화 등 명확한 콘셉트를 가진 도서관의 공간 운영과 서비스 방식을 분석해 아산 공공도서관에 적용 가능한 개선 아이디어를 발굴하는 데 목적을 뒀다.

◆ 특화도서관 운영사례 청취

천철호 의원과 고영이 아산시 시립도서관장 및 관계 공무원은 각 도서관 담당자의 안내를 받아 시설 동선, 이용자 서비스, 특화공간 운영사례를 살폈다. 전주시립도서관 꽃심은 2019년 12월 개관한 공공도서관으로, 12~16세 트윈세대 전용공간 '우주로1216'을 운영한다. 창작·탐색·소통·체험이 가능한 복합공간 구성과 개방형 동선 설계, 북큐레이션 등 참여형 프로그램이 특징이다. 아중호수도서관은 2025년 6월 개관한 음악 특화도서관으로, 호수변 입지와 자연친화적 공간 설계를 바탕으로 책과 음악이 결합된 복합문화공간을 조성했다.

◆ 아산 도서관 개선방안 마련 예정

천철호 의원은 이번 견학 결과를 바탕으로 프로그램 구성과 공간 운영, 서비스 개선방안을 관련 부서와 협의해 단계적으로 마련할 예정이다. 천철호 의원은 "이번 견학을 통해 이용자가 편하게 머물 수 있는 열린 분위기와 방문 자체가 문화경험이 되는 콘텐츠 설계의 중요성을 확인했다"며 "아산 도서관이 시민 일상 속 문화활동의 중심이 되는 지역문화 거점으로 기능하도록 현장의 좋은 사례를 적극 반영하겠다"고 밝혔다.

◆ Learning Specialized Library Operation Cases

Councilor Cheon Cheol-ho, Asan City Library Director Ko Young-i, and related officials toured facility routes, user services, and specialized space operation cases under the guidance of each library's staff. Jeonju Municipal Library Kkotsim is a public library that opened in December 2019 and operates 'Universe 1216,' a dedicated space for tweens aged 12-16. It features participatory programs such as complex space composition enabling creation, exploration, communication, and experience, open circulation design, and book curation. Ajung Lake Library is a music-specialized library that opened in June 2025, creating a complex cultural space combining books and music based on its lakeside location and nature-friendly space design.

◆ Plans to Prepare Improvement Measures for Asan Libraries

Based on the results of this visit, Councilor Cheon Cheol-ho plans to prepare program composition, space operation, and service improvement measures in stages through consultation with related departments. Councilor Cheon stated, "Through this visit, I confirmed the importance of an open atmosphere where users can stay comfortably and content design where the visit itself becomes a cultural experience" and emphasized, "I will actively reflect good on-site cases so that Asan libraries can function as regional cultural hubs that are the center of cultural activities in citizens' daily lives."
