서산시의회(의장 조동식)가 지난 23일 국민권익위원회가 발표한 '2025년 종합청렴도 평가'에서 2등급을 달성했다. 이번 평가는 매년 국민권익위가 전국 243개 광역·기초의회를 대상으로 청렴체감도, 청렴노력도, 부패실태 3개 분야를 종합해 지방의회별 청렴도 등급을 공개한다.

◆ 청렴체감도 2등급·청렴노력도 3등급 기록

서산시의회는 전년도 대비 청렴체감도에서 한 단계 상승한 2등급을 기록했다. 청렴노력도는 3등급을 기록하며 전국 시의회 평균을 상회하는 성적으로 종합청렴도에서 2등급을 획득했다.

◆ 반부패 추진 계획 수립 등 청렴도 향상 노력

서산시의회는 그동안 청렴도 향상을 위해 반부패 추진 계획 수립, 부패 유발요인 정비, 부패방지 제도 구축, 이해충돌 방지제도 이행력 제고, 고위직 청렴 교육 실효성 제고 등 다양한 노력을 추진해왔다. 조동식 의장은 "이번 종합청렴도 평가에서 한 단계 상승한 2등급 달성은 우리 의회의 청렴 운영 노력이 대외적으로 인정받은 결과"라며 "앞으로도 더욱 청렴하고 투명한 의회를 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
